We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"PingSafe released a new security graph tool that helps us identify the root issue. Other tools give you a pass/fail type of profile on all misconfigurations, and those will run into the thousands. PingSafe's graphing algorithm connects various components together and tries to identify what is severe and what is not. It can correlate various vulnerabilities and datasets to test them on the back end to pinpoint the real issue.""They're responsive to feature requests. If I suggest a feature for Prisma, I will need to wait until the next release on their roadmap. Cloud Native Security will add it right away.""The solution is a good alerting tool.""The most valuable feature is the ability to gain deep visibility into the workloads inside containers.""The remediation process is good.""PingSafe offers three key features: vulnerability management notifications, cloud configuration assistance, and security scanning.""It is very straightforward. It is not complicated. For the information that it provides, it does a pretty good job.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its storyline, which helps trace an event back to its source, like an email or someone clicking on a link."

"We like the centralized management of the firewalls. Until we installed Guardicore Centra, we managed all our firewalls individually, so making changes was complicated, difficult, and time-consuming.""That is primarily because I've seen increased rules. It's kind of caught us a little off guard. With GuardiCore, I have had to deal with their technical support and engineering team in Israel. They are amazing. They are very quick to adapt.""The solution is very scalable, especially when connected to the cloud resources.""The real bonus is the fact that we can secure applications, all the way down to the individual services, on each host. It's actually more granular security than we can get out of a traditional firewall.""The label-based segmentation is the most valuable feature.""Application Ring-Fencing and Deception Server, which is basically like a honeypot, are pretty useful features.""Initially, I liked the telemetry part. But later, we used the microsegmentation features that we were able to deploy and found that they really stood out from other vendors. It allows us to see microsegmentation as distributed services.""I found the solution to be stable."

"When we started out, our secure score was pretty low. We adopted some of the recommendations that Security Center set out and we were able to make good progress on improving it. It had been in the low thirties and is now in the upper eighties.""The most valuable features are ransomware protection and access controls. The solution has helped us secure some folders on our systems from unauthorized modifications.""Defender lets you orchestrate the roll-out from a single pane. Using the Azure portal, you can roll it out over all the servers covered by the entire subscription.""DSPM is the most valuable feature.""The product has given us more insight into potential avenues for attack paths.""The technical support is very good.""Using Security Center, you have a full view, at any given time, of what's deployed, and that is something that is very useful.""It's quite a good product. It helps to understand the infections and issues you are facing."

Cons
"We recently adopted a new ticket management solution, so we've asked them to include a connector to integrate that tool with Cloud Native Security directly. We'd also like to see Cloud Native Security add a scan for personally identifying information. We're looking at other tools for this capability, but having that functionality built into Cloud Native Security would be nice. Monitoring PII data is critical to us as an organization.""One of the issues with the product stems from the fact that it clubs different resources under one ticket.""PingSafe can improve by eliminating 100 percent of the false positives.""In terms of ease of use, initially, it is a bit confusing to navigate around, but once you get used to it, it becomes easier.""In some cases, the rules are strictly enforced but do not align with real-world use cases.""PingSafe takes four to five hours to detect and highlight an issue, and that time should be reduced.""The main area for improvement I want to see is for the platform to become less resource-intensive. Right now, it can slow down processes on the machine, and it would be a massive improvement if it were more lightweight than it currently is.""PingSafe can be improved by developing a comprehensive set of features that allow for automated workflows."

More SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security Cons →

"Customers would want to see the cost improved.""Guardicore Centra should incorporate automation so that we don't require to write custom scripts and APIs. The tool also has limitations on rules where it allows only sixty thousand rules. Our clients have also commented that there are too many manual clicks and effort to do changes. I think that the incorporation of automation can help our clients make changes with confidence and without the possibility of human error.""Clients would like to see that the security policies of GuardiCore can continue to be comparable to all the major firewall players out there.""The product needs a few features like enhanced user policies and payload-level inspection to improve the offering.""Sometimes, the speed needs improvement, especially when it comes to the generation of maps, where it can be a bit slow.""Kubernetes is not installed in the way we need it.""They can maybe improve their customer service just because they are kind of a small organization, and customer service isn't as big as others such as VMware.""The dashboard needs improvement. It should be more flexible so that I can easily see what I want or need to see."

More Akamai Guardicore Segmentation Cons →

"After getting a recommendation, it takes time for the solution to refresh properly to show that the problem has been eliminated.""The most significant areas for improvement are in the security of our identity and endpoints and the posture of the cloud environment. Better protection for our cloud users and cloud apps is always welcome.""Consistency is the area where the most improvement is needed. For example, there are some areas where the UI is not uniform across the board.""We would like to have better transparency as to how the security score is calculated because as it is now, it is difficult to understand.""From a compliance standpoint, they can include some more metrics and some specific compliances such as GDPR.""As an analyst, there is no way to configure or create a playbook to automate the process of flagging suspicious domains.""Most of the time, when we log into the support, we don't get a chance to interact with Microsoft employees directly, except having it go to outsource employees of Microsoft. The initial interaction has not been that great because outsourced companies cannot provide the kind of quality or technical expertise that we look for. We have a technical manager from Microsoft, but they are kind of average unless we make noise and ask them to escalate. We then can get the right people and the right solution, but it definitely takes time.""The solution could extend its capabilities to other cloud providers. Right now, if you want to monitor a virtual machine on another cloud, you can do that. However, this cannot be done with other cloud platform services. I hope once that is available then Defender for Cloud will be a unified solution for all cloud platform services."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "As a partner, we receive a discount on the licenses."
  • "It's a fair price for what you get. We are happy with the price as it stands."
  • "I wasn't sure what to expect from the pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a little less than I thought."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's pricing is good."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's licensing and price were cheaper than the other solutions we looked at."
  • "I understand that SentinelOne is a market leader, but the bill we received was astronomical."
  • "It's not expensive. The product is in its initial growth stages and appears more competitive compared to others. It comes in different variants, and I believe the enterprise version costs around $55 per user per year. I would rate it a five, somewhere fairly moderate."
  • "The pricing is fair. It is not inexpensive, and it is also not expensive. When managing a large organization, it is going to be costly, but it meets the business needs. In terms of what is out there on the market, it is fair and comparable to what I have seen, so I do not have any complaints about the cost"

  • "GuardiCore has made some new changes to the license now. We've seen monthly and annual licenses based on a subscription. We have a few clients that pay anywhere from $25,000 a year."
  • "Compared to the pricing we were seeing from both Illumio and Edgewise, Guardicore was very competitive."
  • "Guardicore Centra provides better value for money than NSX, was the other solution that we looked at, which was too expensive for what it does."
  • "This is not a cheap solution but you have to consider the bigger picture, which is what it is giving you."
  • "The customer would complain about the cost."
  • "The solution is reasonably priced and I would rate it a six out of ten. The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
  • "The price is the same as other products in the market. There's no price argument to choose one or the other product, it will cost the customer approximately the same."
  • "Akamai Guardicore Segmentation is expensive."

  • "I'm not privy to that information, but I know it's probably close to a million dollars a year."
  • "We are using the free version of the Azure Security Center."
  • "Azure Defender is a bit pricey. The price could be lower."
  • "This is a worldwide service and depending on the country, there will be different prices."
  • "Security Center charges $15 per resource for any workload that you onboard into it. They charge per VM or per data-base server or per application. It's not like Microsoft 365 licensing, where there are levels like E3 and E5. Security Center is pretty straightforward."
  • "There is a helpful cost-reducing option that allows you to integrate production subscriptions with non-production subscriptions."
  • "Its pricing is a little bit high in terms of Azure Security Center, but the good thing is that we don't need to maintain and deploy it. So, while the pricing is high, it is native to Azure which is why we prefer using this tool."
  • "I am not involved in this area. However, I believe its price is okay because even small customers are using Azure Security Center. I don't think it is very expensive."
