We performed a comparison between Amazon API Gateway and Boomi AtomSphere API Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two API Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."In terms of scalability, I haven't encountered any issues with API Gateway. We've significantly increased our traffic from hitting it once or twice a minute to now hitting it ten to fifteen times within a minute. In an hour, we're receiving hundreds of hits. So, it's performing excellently."
"It is a stable solution."
"It's flexible. It was valuable."
"Integrating API Gateway with other AWS services was easy. It worked out of the box, so it worked perfectly."
"In terms of most valuable features, it would say that it is really easy to start working with it."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a stable solution with an uptime of 99.99 percent."
"It provides the flexibility to configure, switch, and manage configurations through cloud permissions or performance settings."
"Its security feature is the most valuable because it is mainly a security solution. It has easy authentication and authorization, and its integration is also useful."
"AtomSphere API Management is a simple platform that's easy to use. If you're using it on-prem, there's a little learning curve."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a good product for integrating with Boomi as a backend service."
"The stability of the solution is good."
"We can develop almost any interface that we need."
"The product's stability is good."
"We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration."
"AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform. And Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0."
"Integrations take less time."
"It would be useful to have a more complete development environment for the developer, with different integrative capabilities to manage all the life cycles for the API. I think the full version formula for that is really useful. They should improve the development environment for easier integration."
"Amazon API Gateway will wait for only 30 seconds to get a response from other services, such as the Lambda function."
"Currently, I'm not facing any issues with Amazon API Gateway, which satisfies my requirements. I'm pretty happy with what Amazon API Gateway offers, but as its pricing is on the higher side, that's one area for improvement in the solution. What I'd like to see in the next release of Amazon API Gateway is an improvement in the status checks you get from the monitoring feature of the solution. Currently, you get the number of requests received, the number of reports, etc., but if there are more details than what's given by Amazon API Gateway, that will improve the solution."
"The solution could improve signature validation."
"The user interface could be improved, as well as customer support and having a local customer representative in a country."
"If I take into consideration the past three to four years, during which I used the tool, I would say that some missing and external configurations were not possible in the product, and it was a bit difficult to manage."
"The only real problem is that you have to know a lot about what is outside of the API gateway in order to make the best use of it."
"Amazon API Gateway needs to focus on minimizing latency."
"Most of the basic functionality is there in Boomi, but APG is a more feature-rich solution."
"The API management has room for improvement."
"From an improvement perspective, the price could be cheaper."
"The solution must provide more AI services."
"It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management can be improved in terms of threshold management and policy management."
"To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi."
"The product is really complex to manage."
