We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It gives better overall visibility. Before, we didn't have a unified system for managing security alerts. ArcSight introduced various alerts, giving us a better visibility of potential problems.""The reports that we are from getting from ArcSight are very valuable. The reporting in ArcSight is good. Our regulators ask us for the reports on a regular basis, and we have been able to provide the required data. Its overall functionality in terms of log analysis and the speed at which it does that is also valuable. It is very quick. Whatever alerts we had configured were extremely fast. We immediately get alerts when there is unauthorized access or unknown access, or even positive access. This is where we found the difference between ArcSight and other solutions.""ArcSight gives us better visibility into threats that were unknown earlier.""Feature-rich solution which provides better network visibility for improved security""The out-of-the-box rules that help us configure functioning rules within the environment are valuable.""Stable solution with good customer service support.""It is a robust product and has multiple valuable features.""The filters and the ability to do what you want are the most valuable features. There is nothing that you cannot do in this solution. It has all the features, which makes it very dynamic."

"The native integration with out-of-the box format is hassle free and allows data to be used advantageously.""The most valuable feature is the flexible log for identifying security threats inside an application. Sentinel is very good at this.""Sentinel gave us logs to tell us what's going right and wrong in your environment so we could secure the network.""The solution's Kusto Query Language (KQL) execution time is pretty good.""It makes everything easier by automating some tasks and growing with our needs.""The most valuable feature of this solution is that it provides a central locking system for many event sources.""The stability is phenomenal and we never had any issues with downtime or even had to restart.""The solution lets us get all the logs properly and regularly monitor customer infrastructure."

Cons
"I would like to have a feature that gives us an entire report listing what devices are integrated.""Deployment typology could be improved. Difficult to scale across all the different lines of businesses.""The API integration could be better, and I'd like to see more machine-learning capabilities in the future.""Customer service and support is our biggest challenge.""There are several improvements that we would like to see, including: Building a system based on a log collection (SOC), a scenario for external encroachment, and Operator training.""I would like for them to integrate mobile devices. Integration or any kind of functionality which will act as a substitute for IBM so that we can really track our mobile devices as well as look at SIEM.""The correlation engine effectively connects different events, significantly improving our detection reach. However, limitations exist with non-default alerts, where additional costs arise for integration.""When I asked our networking juniors for a comparison between LogRhythm and ArcSight, they said that both platforms are almost the same. It is just that LogRhythm is more modern with a digital platform, which probably gives it some advantage over ArcSight. ArcSight is a very old and mature product that is running on an old platform. It is an old legacy platform. In terms of new features, it just requires platform upgrades so that it becomes lighter and easily adaptable, specifically in the cloud. It would be a good thing if they can also make reporting easier."

More ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) Cons →

"I rate Sentinel a six out of ten for scalability.""There is a need for more flexibility in customization, especially when working with different vendors and platforms.""Creating a drag-and-drop dashboard or workbook in Sentinel is a little more complex compared to other tools like LogRhythm and IBM QRadar.""You need a lot of Unix scripting knowledge in order to manage the tool, which is one of the main issues that we faced.""There is no integration in the web-side of the tool.""The solution does not allow outsourced authorizations.""The dashboard and customer view should be improved""This product's connection to certain types of cloud systems could be improved. We can do Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, but there are a lot of other things happening in the cloud that we do not connect well enough to. This product could be improved with better connection to cloud-based solutions."
