We performed a comparison between CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault and HashiCorp Vault based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Password Managers solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Previously, we used to share passwords for service and normal admin accounts among team members. However, since we started managing it through the product, we've transitioned to individual admin accounts or implemented dual control for shared accounts. With dual control, exclusive checking and checkout options are available, and passwords are not stored in clear text anywhere in the credentials."
"CyberArk's GUI is user friendly."
"It's highly secure and very flexible. It gives us all types of storage options and it gives us a high level of security."
"CyberArk probably has probably the best vault on the market because of the multiple layered security and each password getting its own encryption."
"The tool has safe vaults. We keep our passwords in the Vault. The tool’s recording feature is also valuable for us."
"The accounts are maintained automatically. Hence, resource and administration costs are less."
"The privileged support manager is the most valuable feature of CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault."
"Service count rotation is probably one of my favorite features... The ability to automatically rotate any password I need to really helps with the entire enterprise strategy that we're pushing right now."
"We use the solution for secret management."
"The solution is stable. It has been working perfectly without any problem."
"It can still be configured by a separate team other than developers. That's why I think it's more secure."
"The tool's dynamic rotation of the password credentials is good."
"The interface is very simple to navigate."
"It is an added value for our customers to have a Secrets Management workflow available that is PaaS/CaaS/KaaS Platform agnostic."
"This solution is easy to use and to integrate."
"The most valuable feature of HashiCorp Vault is that it's an open source solution. Second, it's cloud agnostic, so it's very easy to maintain and control, which is why we prefer HashiCorp."
"To get it to a ten it should give other possibilities to select if you could follow the keystrokes. It should have a flexibility with things where people can use it a lot faster."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's deployment is complex for resources with little experience. Tech support needs to be improved as well based on quality and knowledge."
"The architecture needs to be improved."
"I would like to see more integration with more tools, for more APIs."
"We require IAM (identify and access management) capability at the administrator level because we need more identification."
"We should be able to join small components."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault can improve the distributive vault feature. Distributing the vault in multiple areas and multiple data centers should improve."
"It is complicated to deploy for Windows servers compared to other vendors."
"The documentation is very general; it should have more examples and more use cases."
"We could use more documentation, primarily to do with integrations."
"I would like to see better integration of HashiCorp Vault with SAP products."
"In terms of features, the only thing that I found a little bit hinky was that there was no revocation or deletion on the model we were using. Once in a financial year, a client interacts, and you pay for that client for the year. So, there are just little things like that in the pricing. There should be more clarity around the end of the key. I know there is no system like this. They all are the same. I tested Microsoft, Google, and some others, and none of them really want you to delete a key, which makes sense. You delete a key, and you lose everything that it has wrapped or encrypted, but it's actually just a language. Deletion isn't really deletion. It's really revocation, but overall, HashiCorp Vault ticked all the boxes for us, and I couldn't fault it."
"The product needs to improve its customization. It should be also more like easy to plug and play."
"The solution could be much easier to implement."
"The solution's initial setup process is complicated."
"The onboarding is a challenge. It should be more self-service, but it involves reviews and approvals."
