Find out in this report how the two Deduplication Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The solution can scale."
"There are no limitations when it comes to the scalability feature of the product. You can scale up or scale down however much you want."
"The solution is very good because it is easy to use and it speeds up the backup and lowers the requirement for the storage rate. It is capable of encryption, compression, and deduplication and it is fast for sending all of the data over the network because it sends only the change blocks from the client to the DD server."
"We can retain the data for a pretty long time."
"The tool's deployment was easy."
"The solution is quite scalable. An organization shouldn't have any problem expanding if they use this solution."
"Overall, scalability is great."
"It's a stable solution."
"The solution is stable."
"The hardware is strong and all the equipment has a good infrastructure. Personally, I think it's the best storage product in HPE for small to medium-sized businesses."
"Currently, VTLs can only be created on individual service sets and cannot be used to share the resources of other nodes."
"HPE StoreOnce works well, it is stable."
"The initial setup is one of the most user-friendly B2B user solutions. It's good, it's easy. Deployment usually takes less than one day. You only need one person for deployment and maintenance."
"It results in more efficient storage utilization, cutting capital expenditure in half."
"This is a user-friendly solution."
"Deduplication is the most valuable feature."
"The solution could improve by adding more flexibility for the customers here in Thailand. Some of the small capacity models of the solution are not needed by our customers. There should be a more flexible version of the solution."
"The solution could be faster."
"The solution needs a better gateway between the on-premises and cloud deployment models. We have to work around it or find a third party to assist."
"This solution should cover more platforms, and there should be more product coverage."
"The solution needs to be more user-friendly for the end-users."
"When my company faced a problem with the product, it took some time to get proper support."
"Connectivity with the cloud and on-premises needs improved gateways."
"My customer was interested in ransomware protection. Currently, Dell offers the Cyber Vault solution, which is separate from Data Domain. Ideally, ransomware protection would be integrated directly within DD Boost, without requiring an additional out-of-the-box solution. This feature is currently available with HPE's Zerto and Huawei's Ocean Protect with third-party products like PradoNet. While Cyber Vault exists as a separate solution from Data Domain, having some standard protection for immutable backups into DD Boost would be a valuable addition and make it more competitive with other vendors."
"The solution's technical support should be faster."
"I would like to see better integration with Veeam software."
"It is difficult to solve issues with this solution remotely. I prefer to use the knowledge base platforms. The response time could improve."
"The product could be improved with better support for data protection."
"HPE StoreOnce needs to provide a SaaS solution by offering high-density disks."
"In terms of areas for improvement, I believe HPE StoreOnce could learn from competitors like Dell's Data Domain and ExtraHop in refining its architecture."
"When it comes to upgrading, it always goes block-wise. One block is 48 TB raw capacity. It would be good if they can include a smaller capacity for SMB customers. Currently, it is not possible to increase in a smaller capacity. You have to buy the exact same unit. It would be great if they can provide a smaller next block. There are around 20 hard disks, and it would be really helpful if we can add 10 hard disks initially and 10 hard disks later."
"We would like to see some improvements in the Veeam Backup & Replication integration. It's good, but it has a lot of room to improve. In particular around the inability to easily move data between StoreOnce appliances."
