We performed a comparison between Dell Avamar and INFINIDAT InfiniGuard based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Veeam Software, Zerto, Commvault and others in Backup and Recovery."The product has a proven track record of good backups without much of a failure ratio. It also has a good backup in terms of the compression ratio."
"So far, Avamar covers everything we want. We are replicating to other sites for disaster recovery, so it's working well for us."
"All the features in the system are highly valuable."
"The deduplication feature is the best aspect of the solution."
"Its deduplication technologies are the best in the market, currently."
"We love the instant recovery functionality. It's very useful."
"The entire system operates seamlessly, with minimal hands-on involvement, allowing us to focus on monitoring rather than constant adjustments or deployments, as seen in larger, more dynamic environments."
"We are talking about a complete end-to-end solution which comes with its own hardware storage to back up the data on tape-less."
"Essentially, it replaced our tape backups."
"It is very scalable, and that's its claim to fame, but that also makes it hard to make changes. Anytime there is a large piece of software, changing that piece of software is harder. You've got a larger install base, so you can't just rapidly change. We also use another product called Veeam, and it has this new feature called Continuous Data Protection, which basically lets you get very close to the way the system was in time. We have a system or two up there on which we have set 10 minutes Continuous Data Protection. So, we can roll it back to whatever it was 10 minutes ago, 20 minutes ago, or 30 minutes ago. This feature doesn't exist in Avamar Data Domain. That's the one feature I'd like to see first."
"The solution could improve by having better integration and more flexibility."
"Desktop-laptop backups and backup over the WAN needs lot of improvisation. For DTLT there must be a provision to push agents from the management console."
"The management of this solution is a little bit difficult for IT administrators. They have to be trained before going through the system."
"The support is very bad."
"The solution could be a bit easier to use in the sense that they need to make it simpler to backup products and restore items."
"If there is a need to move the data from one backup solution to another, it might be difficult since there is no option for a straightforward migration."
"It would be helpful if there was cloud support."
"I would like to see more improvement in the GUI."
