We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"DX allows you to customize and gives you a high degree of control.""It supports numerous platforms.""Actionable insight is the most valuable feature."

More DX SaaS Pros →

"It prevents (together with performance testing) production performance issues which usually result in customer complaints or system downtime.""I think the design is pretty scalable. It's pretty easy to add additional nodes if we need to. Also, it's easy to migrate changes from one environment to another.""When collecting data with Dynatrace, we saw every single transaction that happened in real-time.""The features that we find most valuable are automatic root cause detection, topology discovery, and session replay.""The stuff that's coming with the new pieces around the Dynatrace Managed SaaS implementation. The ease of implementation there is significant. We've spent a lot of time with AppMon and DC RUM - that's a lot of time to set up, configure. With Managed solution, you just drop it in and everything pretty much auto-instruments.""The product allows us to build preferred/customized business transactions to track complex transactions. UEM (User Experience Monitoring) agents track user experience on webRequests. The advantage is that Dynatrace correlates the measures on the devices with those on the backend servers, giving us an end-to-end view of the transaction, from the user's phone deep into the backend servers.""It has improved our critical incident response, exposing critical issues impacting the environment and our ability to respond to those events prior to client impact as well as resolving those events more quickly. We have use cases where we have studied a 70 percent improvement for response times in an occurring event as well as future reoccurrences being improved.""The dashboard gives us something to show managers and our business where the problems are. That's really been eye-opening for them. They can see, yes, this tool has been a good investment. They can see where the problems are and how we can take advantage of it for making those necessary corrections."

Cons
"DX SaaS is a latecomer to the APM market. Some things that are straightforward in Dynatrace are complicated in DX. For example, upgrading the agents is a seamless process in Dynatrace, but it's a pain in DX SaaS. You should be able to upgrade in the Application Command Center. However, it is not working correctly.""The ability to scale presents a challenge as the cost of handling vast amounts of data in the cloud must be taken into account.""Old user interface and dashboards could be improved."

More DX SaaS Cons →

"We have multiple tenants. If you have them up at the same time, you can't see in the UI which tenant you're in. It doesn't tell you.""I'd like to see self-healing and I'd also like to see more automation. It looks like is that's the direction Dynatrace is heading in, in their Dynatrace product.""Infrastructure monitoring could be improved.""sometimes it happens that we are not able to capture things. For example, if a person is logged in from India, from the city of Mumbai, and is using a Chrome browser, and his email ID is xyz@abc.com. But what happens is, Dynatrace just fetches two pieces of the information, not all of it. Sometimes it gets it all, sometimes it doesn't.""The real complexity that I've seen with Dynatrace is to learn how to navigate through all the options in the troubleshooting process. We have a lot of ways to evaluate the same problem. We had some difficulties in the beginning with the use of the product, but after some time and some experience we have overcome this problem.""The product has no storage.""I would like them to add serverless capabilities, because everyone is going there.""If you have many distributed servers, you will need to install or migrate every agent. This can be a problem if you have too many, and it takes time."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Our monthly cost for DX SaaS is approximately $5 per user, which I considered affordable."
  • More DX SaaS Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing is based on the number of servers monitored, so for big applications, it is a bit expensive."
  • "Licensing is a bit complicated for Dynatrace, and pricing is dependent on how much your organization invests."
  • "We found an issue within the first week of ownership that has been costing us more than the entire license cost."
  • "Product pricing can seem a little over complex, however this is minor and does not detract from the benefits of the solution."
  • "Getting the first agents installed, getting information, and coverage in a initial set of systems can be done in hours and with a low cost entry point."
  • "Price (of the product) is a major concern for all the clients I work with."
  • "The licensing model is confusing in solutioning clients for the number of hosts needed to deploy."
  • "The product is superior to others, but it comes with a price tag that is often difficult to position back to clients."
