We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have tried other RPA solutions like UiPath or Automation Anywhere. They are fantastic products but complex, and it's hard to understand everything. It would be best if you had a skilled developer or several. Automate is easy to implement, administer, and use. It's appropriate for us because our cases are simple and easy to automate. We don't need complicated tools with many features; We prefer to get a significant ROI quickly.""This tool has machine learning and voice recognition and computer vision, which are both quite useful aspects. These aren't available in other tools. It's a good addition to this tool and it gives the solution an edge on the market.""I like the interface; it makes managing automation easy. We can set different schedules and templates for each task.""The interface is simple, user-friendly, and very intuitive.""I actually quite liked the no-coding functionality.""It gives us a central place to schedule tasks and run them distributed.""A great feature that you seldom see in these kind of systems is the ability to use a database as trigger to launch a task. This is something I asked for a few years ago and that was added.""The ability to connect to websites and pull data is the solution's most valuable feature."

"The technical support is great, the product is easy-to-use, and it is stable.""I have supported this product in literally 100s of different environments and its unmatched in its ability to scale to any size.""The project we worked on involved the running of nearly 24,000 job instances in a single day, so I would say that the solution is stable.""The support from Cisco is very good. I was with them as a company for 40 years""The whole product is valuable because it is a tool for batch automation.""Jobs can be triggered in multiple nodes.""The DWC, when configured correctly, is a great GUI tool to provide Self-Service Scheduling capabilities to the user community.""The most important feature is the creation of folders. It's a really great feature because you can organize the process with naming conventions."

Cons
"It would be an improvement if Automate had better stability tools, whether by recommending a certain amount of memory because it can be a memory hog at times.""The technical support could be better. We suffer from language barriers, as we are in Argentina.""The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy.""It's possible that they could use a stronger community for seeking guidance and help.""The solution has a very weak knowledge base.""We really need a free development environment for customers. Building and testing automation on production isn't ideal.""Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be.""I would like to see some better web automation, a wizard like the one in the product WinAutomation would be very nice."

"There should be more custom documentation, specifically around Java APIs. There should also be more training. In terms of features, we are currently using only 50% of its features. We don't use all features that are available, but there is always room for improvement in all of the tools.""Slow down on the releases a bit. I fully understand that IWA functionality is increasing at an amazing rate, but trying to keep up with the upgrades is rough.""This solution does have bugs and could be improved in this regard. However, these bugs are resolved relatively quickly.""It would be helpful to have a mobile app that could be used to follow the job schedule.""The performance of the previous versions could be better.""Scalability-wise, it can be a little bit challenging.""The configuration of IBM Workload Automation has some challenges. We have a difficult time customizing it, but it is similar to other solutions.""The schedule refreshes daily and that's a challenge for us."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
  • "I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
  • "It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
  • "While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
  • "I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
  • "From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
  • "The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."
  • "From a distributor's side, one of the biggest selling points is its price point. Without going into any numbers, compared to UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism, we're significantly cheaper. The main difference is that other competitors usually charge you per process. However, in Automate's case, it's priced per bot. So, a bot can run multiple processes at the same time, but you are only priced for a single bot."

  • "To my knowledge, IWA is the only WLA product that will provide "parallel tracking" capability to assist in upgrading from one platform to IWA."
  • "It is about one-third of the cost of a controller."
  • "The contract is with the customer with whom we are working, so IBM is not directly involved in this."
  • "We transitioned from a server license to per job license, and that saved us a lot money."
  • "Pricing depends on the number of agents that you install."
