Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"IFS has been completely rebuilt, modernized, and cloud-based so we don't need bulky software installations.""Individual user profiles that can be configured as templates to minimize data entry.""There tends not to be a massive weakness in the product itself, as weaknesses can quickly be resolved in the next patch or the next release.""All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product.""What I like about IFS Applications is that it's easier to use and implement than SAP. I also like that the IFS Applications team is more flexible than the SAP team.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience.""IFS Applications' best feature is the user-friendly interface that has a .NET Framework application in the front end and an Oracle database and WebLogic middleware."

"This is an all-in-one ERP solution for small businesses. Everything is linked. Once you have this, you have all the features available in SAP. You have PR, inventory items, journal entry, and project management features.""Sales CRM and Financials are most valuable.""SAP Business One is very stable, and I would rate its performance as ten out of ten.""The most valuable features of SAP Business One are that it has plenty of features and an easy general ledger entry. Additionally, we have an internal team that supports the solution and they provide is good. The solution is easy for us to support.""The most valuable feature of SAP Business One is the ability to manage your entire business with one software package.""I had been using it for the end-to-end functionality.""I like the monthly order management features.""The solution offers a structured view and is useful for the top management. The top management finds it organized and structured. It is stable and gives you fewer headaches as an IT manager."

Cons
"It would be ideal if, in the future, the product could incorporate IoT and blockchain elements. We'd like to explore more of these types of features going forward.""An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex.""I'm a business analyst, so I do a lot of customer-facing work. I take calls from businesses I have to troubleshoot. One thing that bugs me is the error messages you get from IFS. If I get an error message, I have to dig to find the cause because, often, the error message doesn't precisely describe the problem. It'll hint about where the problem lies, but you have to work to find the root cause. It doesn't help in my situation. You expect an error message to point to the field or what is causing the issue.""There were initial difficulties when I started using the application.""IFS Applications can improve the reporting capabilities and increase the speed of feedback time in the IFS Applications. This would help with the overall performance of the solution and provide better experiences for customers.""We have upgraded to the latest version right now. We have issues with the quality. We tried to enroll in their Evergreen program which was meant to help us adopt any service update or anything that the tool’s providers come up with.""The CRM was shaky and although this improves in Apps 10, there is room for improvement.""There should be some improvements in the predefined templates in IFS Applications."

"It would be ideal if the reporting and dashboards were improved upon.""There is no dependency, the integration between the other applications.""The solution could improve by having some added authentication, such as SAP CC or SAP S4HANA.""There are a lot of good improvements coming out in every version. They release a new version every quarter, with all new up-and-coming things on each one. However, it might be lacking specifications for the specific verticals. However, SAP Business One is a generic tool. It's very widely used, and I understand why it's not into each vertical. There are solution partners available out there to give it those extra areas of what it needs, but this is depending on what kind of business you run.""Business One doesn't have a proper master data management function.""The initial implementation is not straightforward. It took approximately three months to complete. The process could be easier.""The user interface could be improved with drag-and-drop functionality that it currently lacks.""The standard SAP Business One is sufficient for the Indian region. There is no need for further enhancement as custom solutions can be designed and developed to meet specific needs. For example, HR and payroll is not a standard feature of the solution, but they can be created as a separate custom solution. However, payroll is not a standard function due to the varying norms and regulations across India's 29 states and union territories. Therefore, a standard payroll solution cannot be provided by SAP to add utility and features. Adding it would lead to different versions of the solution and more complexity in managing them. However, it would be useful to have addons to cover the other states which have different regulations."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."

  • "Business One is reasonable considering the functionality."
  • "In terms of price, it's fair, but the problem is with AMC."
  • "Its price is reasonable. People are able to spend that much."
  • "Its licensing model is good. There is a one-off payment for the software license, and after that, you only need to pay the annual maintenance fee. Compared to other cloud-based systems, this cost model is quite reasonable for SMEs."
  • "We pay annually. It is around 800 a month."
  • "We feel that the licensing fees are a bit on the higher side."
  • "We compared the Microsoft solution with Oracle NetSuite, as they have a price decrease. It is, however, not that much cheaper, and the price is comparable to SAP."
  • "Its price is reasonable. We have about 200 licenses. We have to pay every year for the license."
