We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's very stable, and it handles all types of industrial and manufacturing businesses in very good ways. I've found it to be easy.""The most valuable feature of Infor M3 is the level of detail it has about the different manufacturing processes compared to other ERP solutions. Other ERP solutions provide the same level of integration as Infor M3, but Infor M3 specializes in several functions, such as planning and manufacturing.""Infor comes up with different tools every year, and they are all compatible with Infor M3, which makes it a more reliable and trustworthy tool. The integration is very smooth.""The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is highly customizable.""Its ease of use is most valuable. Inquiries are transparent, and it shows good information on each screen. We don't have to go to 14 different screens to find out about one item, which is a big advantage.""The most valuable feature is the ability to cover different types of activities, and the requirement for maintenance and data is very low.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the Infor GL tool that allows us to do our application support and development.""The product's initial setup phase is easy."

"The product’s most valuable feature is a centralized system integrating different departments within the organization.""It is the best solution in the class of ERP products.""SAP has provided a much more integrated platform for managing our manufacturing business.""The power of ABAP Development Tools is the main valuable feature in the SAP ECC system. Every couple of years SAP upgrades ABAP technology significantly, which facilitates developers' work.""It is easier to migrate to SAP ERP from a legacy system. We have different products for data services, and it is easier to migrate to SAP ERP as compared to other solutions. Stability is one of the main features of SAP. What makes SAP ERP better than others is that SAP has taken into consideration the business processes of different industries, such as manufacturing. They have done the research, and they know what are the best practices. They have already implemented these best practices in SAP ERP, which are readily available for a client. Clients can also customize it based on their individual needs.""This product is very scalable and easy to expand.""The transactional integration of operations is the best-recommended feature of this product. It provides integration of all operational modules.""The solution is scalable."

Cons
"The solution's technical support is an area with shortcomings that need improvement, especially the support for the product named M3 rather than the support offered by Infor as an organization.""We can't make modifications to fit the client's requirements.""Sometimes, M3 alone cannot handle all the planning functionalities required by a customer. It has to be used along with industry-specific planning tools because M3 doesn't have all the features. However, no product can handle all the requirements of all the industries. There will be some shortcomings in all the products. Though this is an area for improvement, it is not a very serious shortfall or limitation. It can be covered by using third-party planning applications that integrate with Infor M3.""It would be great if Infor added some new workflows in the finance module. I'd also like to see better integration with third-party applications.""The solution is stable but not agile.""Its initial setup was probably complex, but it is a very good system.""Infor should create one product to handle the whole business. At present, they make ERP systems for each type of business, and then sell additional features. I would like to have one system handing all organizations or all the business in deep ways and not have to buy additional features.""The implementation could be simplified, it's complex."

More Infor M3 Cons →

"Though SAP ERP's FICO module is a strong part of the product, its integration capabilities can be made stronger.""The problem with SAP is that whenever there is a modification, or if a new field needs to be added, they charge tens of thousands, hundreds, or even two hundred thousand dollars. That is not anything in which I am really interested. For instance, consider a single-use case. I have to enter the root causes for a certain operation or failure. That option does not exist anywhere in SAP, not in manufacturing, not in logistics, not in anything. It is completely missing. The root cause analysis is very common across industries, yet SAP does not offer this option. A line field or a metaparticle, for example, was delayed. If you have the choice to input the warehouse operator or if the person who submitted the document has the opportunity to enter, this has been postponed for N, X, Y, or Z reasons.""More integrations and built-in integrations with other environments and products are needed.""The only feature that is not available in our current version is web access.""SAP is not making a big effort to make it easy to integrate solutions from other vendors. It's not easy at all... Integration is what they can do better.""The reporting feature could improve in SAP ERP. It could benefit from being more flexible.""The UI could use improvement.""We will not make any major changes, and we are not expecting any enhancements or new features from SAP because they already have a new solution. No development is happening on SAP ERP because SAP has come up with a new version called SAP S/4HANA, which is memory-based technology. We are planning to upgrade to SAP S/4HANA, but we don't know when it will happen. We are in the preparation phase."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There is a yearly licensing cost. The price is based on the modules you need. There are several modules, such as HR module, accounting module, sales module, scheduling module, etc., and the price will vary depending on the number of modules you choose. The customers always say that it's very expensive. It can cost a lot of money if your organization is huge. It's not implemented in a lot of organizations in my country because it's too expensive."
  • "Infor M3 is a tier-two product and is cheaper than tier-one products such as SAP and Oracle. However, it is more expensive than some other tier-two products. The licensing cost is dependent on the number of users. Also, if you purchase other tools from Infor as a package, then there may be other discounts offered."
  • "The cost is between $50 and $100 per user annually."
  • "I'm not part of the team that manages Infor M3 pricing, but it depends on the client, integration, ship-out, and training levels. You get the price from the solution provider, but it would be best to discuss it because nothing is set in stone regarding pricing."
  • "If you compare Infor M3 to SAP, Infor M3 is less expensive than SAP, but if you compare Infor M3 to Dynamics 365, Infor M3 is more expensive. It also depends on the model that you buy. It depends on whether you have the complete package or whether you have separate models."
  • "The tool’s licensing is yearly."

  • "This is a costly product."
  • "There are licensing costs."
  • "Some components are available at an additional cost, depending on the type of contract that you have."
  • "The licensing costs are slightly on the higher side. They need to make it more competitive."
  • "SAP is a bit on the costly side, but they also provide support and other things. We are paying for licenses and the use of the cloud."
  • "SAP ERP is expensive."
  • "When you have a solution that is stable, reliable, and has a high performance as this solution, the price is going to be expensive. However, when you evaluate the service you are paying for the cost is quite reasonable for this solution."
