Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The best features of Invicti are its ability to confirm access vulnerabilities, SSL injection vulnerabilities, and its connectors to other security tools.""This tool is really fast and the information that they provide on vulnerabilities is pretty good.""Attacking feature: Actually, attacking is not a solo feature. It contains many attack engines, Hawk, and many properties. But Netsparker's attacking mechanism is very flexible. This increases the vulnerability detection rate. Also, Netsparker made the Hawk for real-time interactive command-line-based exploit testing. It's very valuable for a vulnerability scanner.""I am impressed with Invictus’ proof-based scanning. The solution has reduced the incidence of false positive vulnerabilities. It has helped us reduce our time and focus on vulnerabilities.""Invicti's best feature is the ability to identify vulnerabilities and manually verify them.""The dashboard is really cool, and the features are really good. It tells you about the software version you're using in your web application. It gives you the entire technology stack, and that really helps. Both web and desktop apps are good in terms of application scanning. It has a lot of security checks that are easily customizable as per your requirements. It also has good customer support.""It correctly parses DOM and JS and has really good support for URL Rewrite rules, which is important for today's websites.""It has a comprehensive resulting mechanism. It is a one-stop solution for all your security testing mechanisms."

"The solution's instant reports feature is the most effective for detecting threats.""Tenable.io Web Application Scanning is very easy to use.""The initial setup is straightforward.""We can get detailed information about vulnerabilities.""The most effective feature of the product is the ability to scan the entire environment.""It collects the vulnerabilities on the hostnames and sends them to the Tenable.io cloud. Tenable has its own cloud where Tenable.io is running, but there are many connectors to other cloud solutions. Tenable can do vulnerability scanning for other cloud managers such as Azure, Amazon, and so on.""It is fully automated.""We use the tool for our websites. We have a vulnerable subdomain. The tool helps to scan it for vulnerabilities."

Cons
"The higher level vulnerabilities like Cross-Site Scripting, SQL Injection, and other higher level injection attacks are difficult to highlight using Netsparker.""The scanner itself should be improved because it is a little bit slow.""The licensing model should be improved to be more cost-effective. There are URL restrictions that consume our license. Compared to other DAST solutions and task tools like WebInspect and Burp Enterprise, Invicti is very expensive. The solution’s scanning time is also very long compared to other DAST tools. It might be due to proof-based scanning.""Maybe the ability to make a good reporting format is needed.""I think that it freezes without any specific reason at times. This needs to be looked into.""Right now, they are missing the static application security part, especially web application security.""They don't really provide the proof of concept up to the level that we need in our organization. We are a consultancy firm, and we provide consultancy for the implementation and deployment solutions to our customers. When you run the scans and the scan is completed, it only shows the proof of exploit, which really doesn't work because the tool is running the scan and exploiting on the read-only form. You don't really know whether it is actually giving the proof of exploit. We cannot prove it manually to a customer that the exploit is genuine. It is really hard to perform it manually and prove it to the concerned development, remediation, and security teams. It is currently missing the static application security part of the application security, especially web application security. It would be really cool if they can integrate a SAS tool with their dynamic one.""The scanning time, complexity, and authentication features of Invicti could be improved."

More Invicti Cons →

"The platform's technical support services could be better.""The technical support should be improved. Currently, some attacks are detected while others are not.""The report customization needs to be better.""They have a general dashboard for web application scanning, but the dashboards and reporting can be improved. They probably have some features in their roadmap.""It would be great if there were a dashboard that is more user-friendly.""The cloud and the on-premises versions have their own controllers, and there is no way to centrally manage controllers.""The dashboard could be more user-friendly.""The solution's dashboards could be improved and made more user-friendly."

  • "I think that price it too high, like other Security applications such as Acunetix, WebInspect, and so on."
