We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is that the CLI is the same on all of the Juniper devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.""It's easy to use.""The most valuable feature is that Juniper is multiple kernels, so there's isolation, which means you won't get a process that runs away, creating problems across the whole platform.""The thing that sets Juniper apart from most switches is that when you're in the command line and you make a configuration change, you just write the command and then say "commit confirmed minutes". For example, I'm configuring a switch here in my office, which is five miles away, and I say, "commit confirmed 5". If I can't get back to the interface within five minutes to be able to make sure the switch came up, it rolls back to the previous configuration. This way I do not get locked out, or the switch doesn't get messed up because of the incorrect configuration. That's an automatic feature, which is pretty slick. I haven't seen that feature with other vendors that I've worked with. That's probably my most favorite feature.""We have found the product to be scalable.""Juniper EX Series is part of the Junos operating system and has a candidate configuration feature, which means changes are not immediately applied. It has a consistent command structure across all platforms and can handle both layer-three routing and layer-two switching. Additionally, the Junos OS offers virtualization options and support for multi-chassis and fabric switching. Overall, the Juniper EX Series is a versatile and powerful solution.""One of the nicest things about Juniper switches is they work well with other vendor products. When you have to go into a situation where other vendor switches are present, you can make it work.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the Junos operating system."

"The most valuable features are user functionality and interoperability.""On several occasions we encountered major issues with the solution and have found the Nokia technical support to be quite supportive.""The performance and reliability are the solution's most valuable features.""The highest value lies in aggregating the data to improve both traffic management and device utilization, emphasizing the importance of engagement and liability.""The most valuable feature is the product's availability."

Cons
"Juniper needs to get their code up to par because it isn't stable enough for a leaf and spine design.""The price could be a bit lower.""There are multiple areas of improvement in Juniper EX series switches. In terms of speed and pricing, while Juniper provides good quality services, some clients still find the price very high compared to other competitors. Also there is a need for certain features to be enhanced like clear our configuration process which will help to make Juniper switches more stronger. However, there are also multiple challenges including understanding and configuration of certain aspects difficult without assistance. Despite these kinds of challenges, there have been multiple solutions and huge potential of improvement in Juniper.""All Juniper documentation is terrible.""Their web GUI interface needs to be a lot better, especially when compared to HP. The command line is good, but you have to know how to get around it. The GUI is clunky and very slow.""Jupiter Switches' configuration is a little difficult to understand.""One potential drawback of the Juniper EX Series has been that those without experience using a command-line interface (CLI) may find it intimidating. However, Junos is working on improving this by offering tools, such as Juniper Mist with Wired Assurance and Apstra. Additionally, the graphical user interface (GUI) could be improved as it has been considered lackluster across the board in Junos.""Juniper Ethernet Switches' operating systems get corrupted when the power fails. They have to improve this issue. I may have to use a newer version."

"I would suggest improvements regarding enhancing support response times and implementing user interface modifications for quicker and more user-friendly interactions.""The segment routing could be improved, and they could also transfer a lot of legacy to the cloud domain.""I would like to see more collaboration with advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) vendors, such as Itron.""The solution needs more monitoring tools.""I would prefer that all the licenses be open for our use."
