We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The record and playback feature is the most valuable feature. It's all driven by the script, so it's a script-based tool where the background tracing starts. Java's background process does a lot of tracing. The process starts in the background. It sees what peaks of volumes that the process can handle. It's easy to use because it's script based, record, and playback. I""This solution is SaaS based so we can utilize cloud technology, which is less time consuming and saves a lot of of money.""It's a fast product, so you don't have much trouble in terms of maintenance overhead. You don't want to just look into configuring load generators, look for upgrades, and end up having that take up a lot of your time. With this solution, you just log in and you start using it. This means that there is a huge benefit in terms of the overhead of maintaining the infrastructure and the maintenance effort.""The reports are very relevant to the customers’ expectations.""The product supports a wide variety of technology compared to any other tool.""OpenText LoadRunner Cloud eliminates the need for our own testing infrastructure when running tests.""The product’s most valuable feature is the Vuser license; it allows us to reduce the cost as per requirement.""The TruClient feature is the most valuable for us. An application with testing can only be scripted using TruClient, so it's part web-based, but it also has its own protocol combined with HTTP and HTML. So many other tools do not recognize this specific proprietary protocol. Using TruClient, we can still create scripts that cover everything that we need to cover."

"The most valuable part of the product is the way you can scale the basic testing easily.""I like how you can make modifications to the script on LoadRunner Enterprise. You don't have to go into the IDE itself.""The most valuable feature is the Vuser protocols.""IP Spoofing can be done using Performance Center.""The product is good, and the concept is good as well.""It allows you to work out how well you are doing project-wise because you see the number of scripts done, the number of tests run, and whether you have mapped all your requirements to it.""The tool's most valuable features are scripting, correlations, and parameterization. Debugging is also easy.""The solution is a very user-friendly tool, especially when you compare it to a competitor like BlazeMeter."

Cons
"I don't know of any features that should be added. The solution isn't lacking anything at this point.""In terms of new features, they can natively integrate with Chaos engineering tools such as Chaos Monkey and AWS FIS. With LoadRunner, we can generate load, and if Chaos tools are also supported natively, it will help to get everything together.""The product must provide agents to monitor servers.""Improvements to the reporting would be good.""An area for improvement is analytics on why response times are slow from certain countries.""Scriptless automation is an area that can be improved.""We did have some challenges with the initial implementation.""Reporting and analysis need improvement. Compared to the old school LoadRunner Windows application, the reporting and analysis are mediocre in LoadRunner Cloud."

"The debugging feature needs to include graphs.""The worst thing about it is it did not have zero footprint on your PC.""Lacks the option of carrying out transaction comparisons.""Offering a direct integration feature would ensure a completely smooth experience.""For such an experienced team as mine, who have been with the product for over ten years, sometimes working with technical support is not that easy.""The solution can be improved by making it more user-friendly, and by including autocorrelation capability.""We'd like the product to include protocol identifiers whenever a tester wants to test a new application.""When we have a new application, recording the application is a pretty tough task. We have tried multiple things. We do scripting or try to record with different settings and on different machines. We try to record multiple times, but we do not know why it is recording and why it is not recording. We do the same thing on different machines. It sometimes records, and at other times, it does not. That is one of the major concerns."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is very reasonable and the licensing is straightforward."
  • "There is no monthly or yearly cost but rather, the fees are based on the amount of traffic that you use."
  • "We make use of virtual user hours. We buy time in the LoadRunner Cloud. It costs around $80,000."
  • "Pricing is dependent on what you're referring to. If you're talking about the cloud, it's likely competitive. However, if you're talking about the on-premise version, professional or enterprise licenses are required. Prices are on the high side. They are not cheap."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "It is expensive compared to other tools."
  • "LoadRunner always had expensive pricing. At my company, we used to evaluate LoadRunner, but we stuck with Silk Performer because its pricing was always better in the past. I do feel that I got a fair deal this time. Our value-added reseller and our sales guy worked hard to give us a fair deal. I feel that we got a fair deal. We did not go for the pay-as-you-go deal. I did an upfront package. I prefer that. I want to know what my costs are."
  • "The solution’s price is considerably high."

  • "It is a bit expensive when compared with other tools."
  • "ROI is 200%."
  • "It is a bit expensive, especially for smaller organizations, but over-all it can save you money."
  • "The price is okay. You're able to buy it, as opposed to paying for a full year."
  • "They have a much more practical pricing model now."
  • "I have not been directly involved in price negotiations but my understanding is that while the cost is a little bit high, it provides good value for the money."
