We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's normally able to meet 100% expectations of our customers.""The reporting and analytics features in Microsoft Intune have been a lifesaver.""It's easy to manage and easy to configure.""The biggest thing for us is enforcing logins only from devices that are managed by Intune.""I can see that the patch management process is much improved with the bundled patch management option available in Microsoft Intune compared to the KPI deployment required by the other deployment solutions.""One of the best features is Windows Autopilot because if you change any of your devices, whatever security policies and compliance policies that applied can be easily migrated to the new devices. Windows Autopilot gives you that flexibility.""The feature I like the most is that we can perform remote tasks. If we want to retire or wipe out personal data or corporate data from a device, we can use Microsoft Intune remotely, and with the click of a button, data is removed automatically. Nothing needs to be done from the end-user side.""Technical support, in general, has been quite helpful."

"It has the best automation features.""It is helpful if you schedule daily or weekly archiving for your config groups. Then, you can go by what are in those configuration groups, before and after, if you make changes. So, configuration management is really helpful in network management.""The network security of BMC TrueSight Network Automation has been the best feature.""This product has helped us because we can now do many tasks at once. Rather than copy one file to one device, we can do an entire group at one time.""Depending on who's looking at the data, they need to configure that data in different ways, and the dashboards help us to do that better than what was previously available.""The compliance management, patching, and OS upgrades are useful features.""We use it to back up configurations so the configuration management is valuable for us.""The most valuable feature of BMC TrueSight Network Automation is compliance management, configuration backup, and configuration management."

More BMC TrueSight Network Automation Pros →

"Installing it is a PIP command. So, it's pretty easy. It is a one liner.""The most valuable feature of Ansible is repeatability because when you're working at the DoD, you want things to be cookie-cutter and replicable.""The user interface is well-built and very easy to navigate around.""It increases our company's efficiency, automating all the simple tasks which used to take hours of somebody's time.""One of the most valuable features is automation. We are doing automation infrastructure, which allows us to automate regular tasks. This solution provides us with a service catalog, like building new services and automating daily tasks.""Ansible Galaxy is helpful for roles and Git Submodules: No dependency in managing playbooks. Also, fact caching in redis for host/role grp information speeds up execution. Finally, variable management is easy.""We can manage all the configuration consistency between all our servers.""The API for exposing all our infrastructure services is the most valuable feature."

Cons
"There are some issues using the solution with macOS and iOS, and it offers limited granular control with them. Intune works better on Windows and Android.""They can improve their MAM policies a little bit more and make them more granular. They should include more granular group policies. They are there, but they need to be more granular. Its stability should also be improved. It is not very stable. Sometimes, it shows some inconsistencies across tenants.""Intune has limited integration with non-Microsoft solutions.""One area for improvement is app deployment. Another is the Windows update rollout. If you're rolling out an object to a device that's offline, Intune stops trying to reach this device after it sits idle for a bit. We are forced to find a workaround that could help manage that.""I'm still playing around with it and haven't had any issues with the product yet, but support can definitely be improved.""The biggest problem we ever have is when something goes out of date after 30 days when nobody has logged into it. We do have a problem trying to get those back online. We've been working with Microsoft to resolve that problem, but that's been the only issue that we've had in the last few years.""The configuration and pricing can be improved.""China blocks Google and Google Play Store, which makes installation challenging. Microsoft Intune is a company software, which has to be installed to the app portal or Microsoft Software Center."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The product should be expanded to include more hardware, beyond Cisco and Juniper devices.""They need to have a single sign-on.""I'd like to be able to get more devices into compliance with standards, but that means running additional rule sets and that takes time.""It is tedious to scale the solution.""I would like to see more device supported features, mostly on the new brands and models coming in. For any new version or model, it should be supported by the tool, especially the newest versions. For example, the newest devices, like Aruba Wireless, and routers need support from the tool.""I believe there could be new features in terms of the latest technology.""BMC TrueSight Network Automation can improve by having a better UI. The overall quality of the UI could be better.""For customized compliance, it takes some effort to implement things. If the device configuration is quite complex, then you have to do quite number of customizations in the DNA tool for out-of-the-box compliance. These regular expressions have to be modified based on the requirements of the compliance."

More BMC TrueSight Network Automation Cons →

"There could be more stuff in the workflows. I hope that if I have ten templates with different services on it, workflow could auto-populate all the template-based services.""There are some options not available in the community edition of the solution.""It would be helpful to have templates for common configurations. It would make it much easier and faster rather than creating a whole script. The templates would decrease the learning curve as well.""Ansible could use more public relations and marketing.""The solution must be made easier to configure.""It needs better documentation.""Accessibility. Ansible uses a CLI by default. Those accustomed to it can find their way and adopt the YAML files easily over time. But, some users are more comfortable using UIs...""Networking needs to be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

Network automation and management software reduces network outages and downtime by automating configuration, change and compliance processes. Organizations depend on high performance across their network to keep the business running at peak efficiency but new security threats make it hard for network administrators to keep pace with the demands for new services and safeguard the health of the network.

Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a powerful network automation solution that allows organizations to handle every aspect of their application launch process within a single product. It enables users to share their automations so that teams within an organization can collaborate on various projects with ease. Ansible Automation Platform is designed to be used by all employees involved in the network automation process.

    Reviews from Real Users

Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a highly effective solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Two major advantages it offers are its automation manager and its comprehensive centralized GUI-based management interface.

MD J., a solution architect at STBL, says, “The automation manager is very good and makes things easier for customers with multi-cloud platforms.”

Aankit G., a Consultant at Pi DATACENTERS, writes, “We like the GUI-based interface for the tower. Before, we only had a command-line interface to run all the Ansible tasks. Now, the Ansible tower provides the complete GUI functionality to run, manage, and create the templates and the Ansible jobs. This includes the code and YAML file we can create. The GUI interface is the added advantage of this solution, including some integration with the different plugins.”
