We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The speed at which their services are reactive is valuable. Nowadays, when a threat hits an endpoint, you've got minutes, not hours or days. Their average response time is about four minutes on an alert. For anything that needs to be sent to us, it's about fourteen minutes, which is pretty good. They're the third SOC that I've used in fifteen years. By far, they are the quickest ones to act. When you're looking at prevention, that's a key factor.""The biggest aspect for us is that they are able to conform to our environment and utilize our tools. That way, we still maintain ownership of all the data and access to the applications, and we never lose control of the ability to run the solution ourselves if we need to.""Binary Defense's most valuable feature is the 24/7 monitoring and threat hunting. Their team checks the latest breaches and how they're done.""The best part about Binary Defense MDR is that it runs on everything, and they keep an eye on things 24/7.""The most valuable feature is reviewing tickets and the notes added by technicians.""With Binary Defense, we don't just get an alert, but also a detailed rundown of why they're alerting us on it. They tell us what was executed, or the username, script, or IP. That way, we're not wasting time investigating.""The customization has been the most valuable aspect and was really the reason we ended up selecting Binary Defense. They worked with us to provide exactly the level of support, features, response, and collaboration we needed.""The case interface is Binary Defense MDR's most valuable feature."

More Binary Defense MDR Pros →

"The solution is user-friendly.""The most valuable feature is the Managed Detection and Response.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the real-time visibility into what is happening in your endpoint.""EDR and Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV) are good features. The Spotlight feature is also good, and it also can detect patching-related vulnerabilities.""It has good visibility, works well, and it is fast.""The main valuable features are feasibility, ease of deployment, and that it's all based in the cloud. I like that it is gradually updated and that the detection rate is higher than that of other endpoint solutions. There are fewer loopholes.""If there is something wrong or not normal in the endpoint CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is very responsive.""Crowdstrike has better support than Carbon Black."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Pros →

"It's running in the background and does a packet-level analysis of everything that comes in. It also has an auto-response feature, so if something gets through and is clicked on, or somehow gets through the network, it gets isolated and quarantined, and we get notified.""The standout feature is its continuous 24/7 monitoring of all network traffic, providing unparalleled vigilance.""We now have a single cybersecurity product that protects all of our threat services, and all the endpoints.""The most valuable aspects of Covalence for me are the exceptional customer service and the support from the dedicated team.""The ARO alerts are helpful to use almost daily to get a sense of what actions we need to take to expedite security measures.""Unlike previous solutions, where we were solely informed of security incidents, Covalence's MDR allows for real-time incident prevention.""The most valuable features are Action Recommendations of Observations, which keep us informed about existing vulnerabilities so we can proactively update our endpoints and those of our customers against potential threats.""Hackers are trying to breach a business when they least expect it - that's often at night, weekends, and holidays. Covalence never sleeps or misses a second of monitoring."

Cons
"I don't find any downside to them, but if I have to put one, it would be consistent manpower or staffing. The only area where the solution can be improved is going to be with people. As they grow, they are struggling with the same thing that every other company is, which is getting talent and getting that talent to stay, but they've just revised their tiering system to go from a flat analyst and manager to a three-tier solution where it goes through two or three before it gets elevated. That seems to have worked out well, so if one level misses it, the next one picks it up, and it works out fine.""If I were shopping for an MDR solution today, I would not only look for a company that has the ability to alert, detect, and remediate, but also the ability to integrate vulnerability management. That's a big thing that they're lacking today.""It's sometimes difficult to know when to engage Binary Defense or TrustedSec, their sister company. TrustedSec is more focused on offensive security, as opposed to the defensive security that the MDR solution provides. It would be awesome if there were a better bridge between that relationship for when we need to get more proactive services or when we need to do a penetration test.""It's hard to think of anything that they need to improve on, but just to point out something, I would like to see them provide advanced XDR.""The only area I see for improvement with Binary Defense is their service portal. It could benefit from some enhancements.""The current reporting system could benefit from improvement.""Binary Defense MDR could be even better with additional features, like automatic scans and file quarantine.""We found a couple of bugs in the user interface."

More Binary Defense MDR Cons →

"The only aspect where we've offered feedback for potential enhancement is essentially the user experience.""An MDM, Mobile Device Manager, should be added in the next release.""CrowdStrike Falcon Complete does not include patch management functionality.""The support from CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is very fast. The support could improve if it was in the French language.""Like any other solution, a lower price would make CrowdStrike Falcon Complete more appealing.""I want better integration with other security solutions; integrating with third-party apps wasn't as seamless as I expected.""I would love for the threat intelligence part to be more globalized to provide a tailored response to types of malware and ransomware that are trending in other regions. For example, they can add a feature to tell us that there are separate attacks in South Asia or East Asia occurring at these times, so we can supply those things to our environment and protect ourselves.""CrowdStrike Falcon Complete could improve the threat visibility and have remediated vulnerabilities that they find."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Cons →

"In the "Arrows" tab, if we encounter multiple duplicate recommendations, it would be helpful to be able to select and resolve or dismiss them all at once.""I would like Covalence to include patching.""While the reporting is good, I would like more of a white-label option with my company's name at the top and a clean look for the report.""I'd like improved visibility into the backend data where logs are stored, along with integrations with a wider range of products.""I have had a couple of challenges around updates to the agents where it seems it doesn't automatically replace older versions.""Covalence should provide a live view of the endpoint because the endpoint view in the portal is 5 to 15 minutes behind the actual status of the endpoint and its vulnerabilities. When it doesn't update with the actual status, it makes managing those things harder because sometimes something gets updated, and one of those vulnerabilities has gone away, but that doesn't appear in the ARO.""The cost of the solution has room for improvement.""Field Effect Covalence could benefit from enhancing its packing slip process."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution's price is spot on; if anything, it's slightly below the norm for most services. Compared to building the same team internally, it would cost more to create the same amount of capability than what we get from an external team. Price-wise, Binary Defense is in a great spot."
  • "From the initial cost that Binary Defense came in with, we pared it down quite a bit over the course of 30 or 60 days. My leadership would say that their cost was high, but realistically, they were in line with the market."
  • "The pricing is on target. Working with their sales team on pricing negotiations was a pleasant process. They were very respectful of the constraints we had and I feel that we're paying a fair price."
  • "It's valued at the right price. Even with the number of endpoints we have, we don't feel that it's a lot more than any competitor. In fact, it might be less expensive when you look at the fact that you're getting a full flex SOC out of it along with the tools."
  • "Binary Defense has changed its pricing model from being primarily based on the volume of data to one based on escalations and incidents they handle."
  • "Binary Defense MDR is priced competitively and may be slightly lower than CrowdStrike."
  • "After we acquired this platform, we met with a number of different vendors. Binary Defense came in with a proposal that was surprisingly affordable. In fact, we were able to recoup the cost of their services within a short period of time. This is because Binary Defense is able to provide the same level of security as a team of two or three in-house analysts but at a fraction of the cost. As a result, Binary Defense is saving us an estimated $250,000 to $300,000 per year."
  • "The pricing isn't that bad, it's very competitive. I don't feel that it's over-priced and I don't feel that it's under-priced."
  • More Binary Defense MDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The price is okay, although you're not going to get away cheap when it comes to security."
  • "At approximately €60 per machine, per year, I think that it's a good price point."
  • "It is a fairly firm price. It is not the cheapest solution, but if you take the complete team into consideration, it is a great value."
  • "The average price is approximately $500 per customer."
  • "CrowdStrike is more expensive than SentinelOne. Licensing works on the number of agents and the modules you buy. CrowdStrike has different modules, such as Falcon, Falcon Overwatch, Falcon Complete, etc. The pricing depends upon the module that the customer wants. They have different Incident Response (IR) teams, which are very expensive."
  • "They are really reasonable for the services they are providing. When you add more endpoints, you are going to pay more for the license."
  • "Its price is very high. CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is 50% more expensive than Cisco AMP for Endpoints."
  • "There is a license for this solution and everything is included. However, The price of the could be lower."
  • More CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The cost of the solution is high."
  • "Covalence is cost-effective."
  • "We were particularly impressed with their pricing model, which charges per user rather than per system."
  • "Although Covalence is expensive, it provides good value for the price."
  • "The pricing is comparable to what else is out there."
  • "We're currently enrolled in the volume package, which offers tiered pricing based on usage."
  • "While Field Effect Covalence's pricing seems competitive for the market, the biggest hurdle lies in the lack of dedicated security budgets within many organizations."
  • "The licensing model itself is solid, but we're ironing out some inconsistencies in how customer profiles are configured."
