Find out what your peers are saying about Microsoft, Tableau, SAP and others in BI (Business Intelligence) Tools."When it comes to decision-making, the product is very useful and used in many departments since a lot of people prefer the reports to be generated by IBM Cognos."
"Previously, we were doing static reporting. Management would request a report, and it would take staff a week or more to provide it. With Cognos, we have dynamic reporting, and it has reduced both reporting and decision making times significantly. With the solution's dashboard, the company's management team has updated records at their fingertips. This means that they can directly access the data they need to make decisions."
"Even while a user is using a cube for reporting, there will not be a situation as ' Cube file locked; unable to build or deploy'."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its ease of use, which makes it easily compatible with other tools."
"The correlation analysis is excellent. It's one of the best that I have used to date."
"Self-service is possible through the use of dashboards, which are also very intuitive. Stories can be used to pin snapshots, tell the story for meetings, etc."
"Using custom controls, it is possible to extend the application with even more functionality and make the application intuitive and attractive."
"Security administration tools are powerful and flexible."
"Its workflow is straightforward and simple to understand."
"One thing that we really want is the ability to have data portrayed on an image. Cognos is not able to do it at the moment, and that's becoming a requirement from the business side: having an image and then plotting your dataset on top of the image as a map."
"Tableau and Power BI are faster than Cognos."
"The data uploads that we do, such as Excel files, have a lot of restrictions. If we can make it a bit more user-friendly, allowing us to have more flexibility it would be a great help."
"I would like to have predictive and forecasting capabilities in Cognos. It's one thing to do reporting, and another thing to easily predict or forecast certain data points, which is very important for all the clients."
"Extending dynamic cubes aggregate awareness with calculated measures."
"Need improvement towards Visualization."
"They should provide improved visual reporting."
"This product could use improvement in terms of usability for those with less technical know how."
"There is a little bit of reliance upon understanding the syntax of the actions that you want to take. Some of the other competitors have moved forward with that in terms of being able to make it more drag and drop and more logical, but there is still some way to go for UNIT4 in doing that, but they're getting there. With all these things, automation helps. The more they can do to simplify some of the complexities from the financial reporting, evaluation, and analysis sides, the better it would be. I'd like to see more automation and more simplicity from an end-user point of view."
