We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The profile management option is another valuable feature that allows us to manage the profiles and secure them.""The solution can scale to fit any requirement.""The biggest advantage of Azure File Storage vis-à-vis other public cloud storage providers, and why we recommend Azure first and foremost, is that many of our customers have partnerships with Microsoft and so they have access to better cloud economics. Compared to AWS, we have found that (from a customer perspective) Azure is much more competitive.""What I like about Microsoft Azure File Storage is its convenience for customers, cost-effectiveness, and high availability.""It was quick to synchronize back from Azure to the on-premise server.""It is very easy to use SSTP and some traditional code to move the data into a database because we can easily use the permissions and we don't have any integration or conversion issues.""The solution is user-friendly and integrates easily with web apps.""The initial setup is straightforward and takes approximately twenty minutes."

It automates a lot of operations in the background.""Replication and performance tuning are valuable features."

Cons
"Microsoft Azure File Storage needs more integrations. In the future, I also want to see GRC added to the portal. If you enroll or sign up for Azure services, your country may not have GRC available in the portal, so you may have to choose a strange country, for example, Kenya, to activate credit.""The product must provide better security functions.""The solution is not user-friendly.""The product name keeps changing. It can be confusing when product names change frequently, especially with Microsoft. Sometimes, if you refer to a product by a certain name last year, it might have a different name six months later.""Some of the procedures are a bit more complex in Azure than in other providers.""Azure File Storage's stability is okay, but sometimes we have trouble with the link to the Azure VPN disconnecting.""If the file is large, there may be a delay in download time.""Maybe Microsoft can make it more economical because it is a costly affair."

"We cannot use the product with other brands.""Deployment is overly complex and could be streamlined.""The product's technical support services need improvement in terms of response time.""The product can protect from external data penetration, but the in-house IT team can access it.""They should base their strategy according to the country and the regulations there, and focus more on the on-premises deployment.""It's already fast, but still, they could improve the speed.""Oracle Database Backup Service is not a cheap solution.""The solution needs to add an archive function."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "For one terabyte of data, we are spending about 150 Euro every month."
  • "One of the major benefits for AWS is that they have a very large customer representative base where clients can be picked from, they offer large discounts and credit. We were not able to receive the same kind of offers from Microsoft Azure File Storage. We tried to approach Azure while hiring for our disaster recovery discussion, but we didn't receive anything from Azure."

  • "One needs to pay according to the storage they plan to use in the solution. The payments are to be made yearly. It is usually monthly, but we opted for yearly subscriptions in our company."
  • "Microsoft Azure File Storage is expensive."
