We performed a comparison between NetApp Cloud Backup and Veeam Backup & Replication based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Scalability is very good."
"One feature that works well for us is that the Cloud Manager is a completely agentless solution. There's a similar dashboard on both the versions for on-premises and the cloud, and with reference to the Cloud Manager, it's a little faster because there's nothing to be installed as such. Being agentless, it doesn't require any agent to be deployed on the targets where the backups are triggered."
"NetApp Cloud Backup performance is good and they have beneficial technology."
"It is a good product, in regards to performance, as well as data protection."
"I'm satisfied with tech support, because the solution is so stable that I haven't had the need to engage any of the engineers yet."
"The initial setup was not overly complex."
"Good compression when storing data."
"The solution is easy to install and very stable."
"Replication is the most valuable feature."
"Features with the most value are Instant VM Recovery, SQL Explorer and Exchange Explorer."
"I like that the solution is very simple to install."
"Integration and reporting could be improved."
"One area that can be improved is around how we define the different KPIs. In particular, the business KPIs. I have my own in-house application for the business KPIs, so for example, with our policies around retention, which is a period of seven years, I have to read these parameters from other applications and I need them to integrate well."
"NetApp Cloud Backup could improve by being easier to use. Veeam solution is easier to use."
"The physical server backups and direct storage connectivity need improvement."
"Sometimes Veeam is not that effective when it comes to legacy environments."
"The cloud part of it can be improved. There should be an option for Veeam in your own cloud, as compared to the Veeam cloud offering that's currently there. The rest of it is easy."
"think backing up from physical servers and ransomware security needs some improvements."
"The implementation was straightforward. However, we used an integrator, the process could be easier for us to do it ourselves."
"The endpoint protection console is not centralized."
"The virtual sandboxes seem complex to setup, so I have not invested time in leveraging this feature. It would be nice if this feature was more user-friendly."
"I like the Acronis backup solutions on the block-based part of backups. That is a functionality that Veeam does not provide."
