Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It scales in terms of numbers and types of identities. It can govern the on-premise applications as well as the cloud applications. So, it can manage hybrid environments with all types of identities and various load amounts.""The most valuable aspect of the product is that it is Microsoft-based and it supports all Microsoft technology.""I appreciate all the support we receive from Omada.""The benefits of Omada Identity include a holistic way of viewing access, the ability to give people access, and automation.""Omada's best feature is creating accounts, automatically assigning permissions, and distributing resources based on assignment policies.""The support for the validity of the resources is valuable. The tool allows resource assignments within a validity period so that the managers do not have to remember to revoke the access once the work is done.""Two valuable features of Omada Identity are the ability to discover accounts and link them to identities, and the automatic disabling of inactive accounts or identities.""The teams we work with at Omada provide great insights and support. Overall, it has been a pleasure working with them. That's the part we value the most."

"This solution helps with compliance by having a way of controlling an audit trail, knowing how things are done, and knowing how to control who has access to what.""The most valuable features include the automated attestations or recertification... The time that people have to focus on their real jobs and not spend it doing recertifications is huge.""It is easy to extend the product for custom purposes.""In terms of what I found most valuable in One Identity Manager, it's the only product where the workflow and the catalog can be configured on roles or by business people. You don't need to know the technology at all to configure that, so this is the product's biggest advantage as well as its strongest feature. One Identity Manager is also business-oriented and IAM administrator-oriented.""One Identity is simple to implement. About 90 percent of the implementation is configuration rather than scripting and creating the connectors.""The most valuable feature of One Identity Manager for me is its Designer tool.""We have seen a slight reduction in help desk calls, as this solution is a self-service product.""Its flexibility is the most valuable feature, the way we can customize the user interface and the workflow processes."

More One Identity Manager Pros →

"It provides ease of connecting all our devices.""PingFederate is very flexible. We can do many customizations, and it also provides an SDK to tailor it to our specific requirements. There are also numerous plugins available. I've worked with tools like ForgeRock and Okta, but I find PingFederate to be the most customizable.""It's pretty stable as a product.""The soundness of the solution is its most valuable feature. For example, if you are in our corporate network, you can log on without any traffic interfering.""I like the self-service feature. The 502 and UBP systems are also excellent. PingID's ability to authenticate with SSH, RDP, and Windows login is pretty handy. It covers the entire spectrum of use.""The mobile biometric authentication option improved user experience. It's always about security because, with two-factor authentication, it's always a separate device verifying the actual user logging in.""The only feature we were looking for in PingID was SSO integration with our existing web app.""The solution has a smooth and configurable user interface for single sign-on capabilities."

Cons
"Omada Identity has a steep learning curve.""The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it.""I am not working with the product, but they have this BI tool for role-based mining, and I think that should be included in the core product rather than an add-on.""I would like to see them expand the functionality of the tool to continue to be competitive with the monsters out there. For example, they could add functionality on the authentication side, functionality that Octa and SailPoint have. But they should do that while maintaining the same simplicity that makes Omada a product of choice today.""The security permission inside Omada needs improvement. It's tricky to set up.""Its flexibility is both a good thing and a bad thing. Because it is very flexible, it also becomes too complex. This is common for most of the products we evaluated. Its scalability should be better. It had a few scalability issues.""The UI design needs improvement. One or two years ago, Omada changed its user interface to simplify, but the simplification has not really kicked in.""If you're running Omada on a cloud service, you may have some issues deploying the newest release. Sometimes, the latest release doesn't adapt to the processes we have already installed. Identity Access Management is a critical system for our organization, and we need to ensure that everyone has the same access as they did before the release."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"The product must include SaaS in the future.""It would be nice to have more functionality in terms of connecting SAP systems, provisioning user accounts through SAP systems, and provisioning additional attributes.""The identity governance components have some room for improvement, particularly the ability to terminate an employee's ID after leaving the company.""A feature that I would like to see is a mobile app that provides users the ability to make changes or add users to the Active Directory, on the fly.""One Identity has a self-service portal but many customers need a helpdesk where they can go in and request. To make that happen we need to do a lot of customization. Maybe that could be improved...""I would like some access management features to be added. We have some customers with a small need to do authentication as a service, and there are other solutions on the market which offer this.""The support for DevOps could be improved with quick delivery cycles and multiple delivery streams.""The initial setup was quite complex because you run into some existing policies that the company already had. There was some trouble with some inconsequential policies."

More One Identity Manager Cons →

"The product is not customizable.""We have encountered instances where it is not easy to do authentication.""PingID classifies the type of environment into internal and external, which is an area for improvement because you need to take additional steps to trust internal and external users.""The initial setup appears to be difficult in the beginning.""They could use some bio-certification. It's just more user-friendly and more convenient than entering the one time passes. That would be an improvement.""The solution should allow for better integration with other platforms and the UBT.""PingID should put a little more effort into making a pretty self-explanatory deck about their tech features and the services they offer.""PingFederate's UI could be streamlined. They have recently made several improvements, but it's still too complex. It's a common complaint. The configuration should be simplified because the learning curve is too steep."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
  • "There are old processes that are really great for some people and look like pieces of artwork. However, the maintenance of them is really expensive."
  • "The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
  • "We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
  • "It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
  • "We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
  • "It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
  • "It has helped to reduce customer costs."
  • More One Identity Manager Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "PingID pricing is a ten out of ten because it's a little bit cheaper than other tools, such as Okta and ForgeRock, and supports multiple tools."
  • "PingID's pricing is pretty competitive."
  • "The product is costly."
  • "The pricing is neither too expensive nor too cheap."
  • "Ping offers flexible pricing that's not standardized."
