We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's a fast product, so you don't have much trouble in terms of maintenance overhead. You don't want to just look into configuring load generators, look for upgrades, and end up having that take up a lot of your time. With this solution, you just log in and you start using it. This means that there is a huge benefit in terms of the overhead of maintaining the infrastructure and the maintenance effort.""OpenText LoadRunner Cloud eliminates the need for our own testing infrastructure when running tests.""This solution is SaaS based so we can utilize cloud technology, which is less time consuming and saves a lot of of money.""It is feature-rich. It supports most protocols, which is important because I am in charge of a team at the bank, and we do performance testing for all kinds of different applications. We have tons of them. We even do video streams.""The TCO has been optimized along with the total ROI.""The beauty of LoadRunner Cloud is that we can use the load generator that is hosted by us on-premises, and we also have the option to use their hosted load generator. If it is a public-hosted application, we can also use their public-hosted load generator, but in our case, all our applications are hosted in our data center, so we are using the on-premise load generator. We have the option to deploy those load generators as we want.""The most valuable feature is the ability to configure browser settings for different operating systems and on different versions without the need to install every single version on each machine and to manage them.""The most valuable feature is that you can create an infrastructure on-demand and do performance testing with it."

"For me, LoadRunner stands out, especially with its reporting capabilities, the graphs that can be generated, and the unique feature of measuring our application's response alongside our infrastructure metrics, such as CPU, memory, or disk usage, all presented in graph form. This is something other applications struggle to match.""Our main use case for the product was load and stress testing. It helped us put the system under stress by injecting in multiple users, such as 5,000 users.""The solution offers helpful guidelines and has good documentation.""Provides the performance of load test applications and reliably on good reporting.""The initial setup was straightforward. I was able to download everything myself without any IT support.""Support is nice, quick, and responsive.""It is mostly user-friendly and usable.""The host performance testing of any application using a host/controller is the most valuable feature."

Cons
"The product price could be more affordable.""I don't know of any features that should be added. The solution isn't lacking anything at this point.""It should have a feature to report with a 99.9 percentile success rate.""I'd like to see more ability to dive more deeply into the configuration.""CI/CD integration could be a little bit better. When there's a test and if you see that there are high response times in the test itself, it would be great to be able to send an alert. It would give a heads-up to the architect community or ops community.""We are trying to put it into a complete CI/CD pipeline, but there are still some challenges when you try to run it through different protocols. The challenges are around how you can containerize applications. There are some limitations to some protocols, such as desktop. And when it comes to database testing, there are some things that we can't do through CI/CD.""There are three modules in the system that are different products packaged into one, and they can sometimes be difficult to figure out, so they should be better integrated with each other.""We did have some challenges with the initial implementation."

More OpenText LoadRunner Cloud Cons →

"It would be beneficial if LoadRunner could optimize resource usage, especially for protocols that require significant resources, like TrueClient, which interacts directly with the UI. If they could improve resource usage, like ingest or for the load generator, using less CPU or RAM memory, that would be great. That's where I have problems.""On the newer versions, I think the bleeding edge is still being worked on.""Integration can be tricky during the setup process.""While the stability is generally good, there are a few strange issues that crop up unexpectedly which affect consistent use of the product.""For such an experienced team as mine, who have been with the product for over ten years, sometimes working with technical support is not that easy.""OpenText LoadRunner Enterprise needs to improve reporting.""The debugging feature needs to include graphs.""Canned reports are always a challenge and a question with customers because customers want to see sexy reports."

  • "LoadRunner always had expensive pricing. At my company, we used to evaluate LoadRunner, but we stuck with Silk Performer because its pricing was always better in the past. I do feel that I got a fair deal this time. Our value-added reseller and our sales guy worked hard to give us a fair deal. I feel that we got a fair deal. We did not go for the pay-as-you-go deal. I did an upfront package. I prefer that. I want to know what my costs are."
