We performed a comparison between Postman and ReadyAPI based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Postman only has a couple of solutions to automate API tests, whereas ReadyAPI can do both API testing and load testing. ReadyAPI users also report a positive ROI, while Postman users do not. For these reasons, ReadyAPI wins this comparison.
"Postman lets you create, manage, and validate a suite of tests. It has several features to help you organize your test suite. You can also automate stuff with a lot of validations and assertions. Postman supports GraphQL, and you can do various kinds of calls."
"The developers put the API in a common workspace which is a nice feature. It makes things much easier and faster to start testing."
"In Postman, we have an option to directly import a call, make it a Postman collection, and execute it in a batch. This feature is very useful. It saves a lot of time. The manual effort is also reduced when we can just pick it in a Postman collection and then run and execute it to get the results."
"The most valuable feature of Postman is the large libraries."
"The scalability is good."
"It is simple, easy to use and a good tool."
"I like that it is very easy to use. I also like the automation feature."
"The interface and the different types of API methods you can use are the most valuable aspects of this solution."
"API mockups, functional testing, and load testing are valuable features."
"The out-of-the-box support for the database is a valuable feature."
"One good feature is SoapUI's URL check, which allows you to check among the applications. I'm not just talking about the ones for Android. It has all kinds of multi-world tests that are really helpful."
"The solution has some good scanning features."
"It's a very simple solution to use."
"The solution scales well."
"The product allows us to uncover any potential issues early on."
"The interface is user-friendly."
"Postman needs more advanced data-driven testing."
"I would like to see improvements in the maintenance of the scripts and their collections. It is really painful that the user cannot drag and drop. It was also painful to create the standard suite of operations for the product. I am not sure if this is improved in the tool’s latest versions. The maintenance of the complex scenarios prompted us to use the solution only for unit testing. In the future, we may switch to the k6 framework."
"Multi-part requests should be handled in the octet-stream."
"We have previously used Tosca which allowed us to verify information using authentications. It would be useful if this was also possible using Postman. In a future release, Postman should connect to DB."
"Integration of the solution towards Bitbucket, BitHub, and CI pipelines is difficult."
"To get this email reporting function, we have to integrate Postman with Newman. If the two are not integrated, we won't be getting all these things in one group."
"They should integrate the solution with one of the CRM solutions."
"Postman quality assurance could improve when doing tests."
"SoapUI Pro is a little heavy due to the number of features. Previously it was not that heavy. Now the tool is too heavy, they should work on fixing this issue because until your system has lots of resources, you won't be able to use it seamlessly. The performance of the application itself could improve."
"I find that I'm fighting with the opportunities to order requests."
"Automation features are not user-friendly."
"Stability has been an issue for us. It needs to be looked at and made a bit better."
"The UI could be a bit more flexible."
"If the load and bare minimum could be defined, I would give this solution a higher rating."
"Could integrate the graphing module for load testing."
"The UI should be improved."
