We performed a comparison between SOTI MobiControl and VMware Workspace ONE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It's really easy to access."
"For our office workers who are not based in Norway, when we order the PC, we can do some of the settings for them. These are standardized settings. We can set them up exactly as they are in Norway so that they're the same."
"The most valuable feature of Intune is the central dashboard for compliance and policy management."
"For Windows services, there are multiple options within Intune to modernize it to be more internet-facing and dynamic."
"Intune's most valuable features are the device, compliance, and configuration policies."
"The main advantage is that Intune performs its intended functions effectively."
"Its protection policies are most valuable. It protects mobile devices as well as individual apps. It is pretty scalable, and its documentation is also pretty good. It is also pretty straightforward to deploy."
"At the moment, Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"The feature I find most valuable within Soti is the ability to reset or unlock a device. A lot of the devices that we use are in the field. We have locations in Dallas, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, and Phoenix, Arizona and there isn't always someone, within our company, who is managing these devices. Sometimes it's the doctors' offices that we partner with where they use these devices. Having the ability to remotely reset a device or unlock a device has been super-crucial for me."
"The keywords menu is better than other MDM. They have an Out of Contact policy, which other MDMs don't have."
"SOTI MobiControl is the right solution for customers who want a reliable and low-cost MDM solution."
"The remote control we have helps us a lot."
"The admin part, where I'm adding users, is not too bad. It's easy enough to use."
"Also, although they're Apple products, we don't use the Find My iPhone feature because that would require us to use so many fake numbers or come up with a list of numbers. SOTI has been super-helpful in helping us track where an iPad is and knowing that we can remote-access it."
"The licensing is simple."
"We use SOTI MobiControl for managing Android device management."
"The feature that we find most valuable is the corporate email pushing."
"The solution's single plane of glass approach is beneficial. The endpoint management is very good and specific. One of their competitors is Intune, and you have leaks from other services within the Microsoft ecosystem."
"I found the initial setup to be easy."
"The product enables us to access our internal applications from anywhere in the world."
"We've found the solution to be easy to use."
"It has all of the features that we need to use and that we want to use."
"We find it to be reliable."
"We can do single sign-on and make use of the same user account to log into multiple applications."
"Microsoft Intune fails a lot when it comes to device compliance."
"Intune does not provide real-time visibility."
"In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune."
"Onboarding of endpoint devices is not straightforward. The onboarding process was a little heavier than I thought it would be. That's the key improvement area. Obviously, the more control you have over the devices, the better it is."
"Intune's third-party patch management could be better. It should be easier for the average system admin to keep non-Microsoft applications updated."
"The documentation about the custom image setup could be better. Although Microsoft provides the steps to configure Intune or set up or deploy Intune, it doesn't have much information related to custom images. If you ask, "how can we deploy the custom image?" There is no information. The steps they mention ask you to connect to your on-premises environment or create your own image on the cloud itself once there is connectivity. But I needed to go to multiple websites to get all this information. I had to figure out how to upload the custom image if you want to use the on-premise custom image for Cloud PC. If you have the proper subscription, you must have the right access, like global admin or owner. Then you can add your custom image to that. There are no steps mentioned over there. Microsoft Intune doesn't have Chrome browser support. I would like to have that support because they will want it if we pitch the product to clients."
"I would like the ability to install the agent on devices from suppliers, which would enable us to implement a zero-trust strategy for guest devices."
"The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"We're deploying an application upgrade. We can't do more than three or four devices at once, and we don't know if the device actually received the upgrade. There's no indicator saying it's 100 percent complete until everything is done. Let's say I work East to West. I work on the East Coast and I want to confirm it was done with the upgrades in that region. I wouldn't know until I actually went into it. There's no indicator telling me that it's complete."
"It would be helpful if the product offered more integration and more features around the iOS and macOS platforms."
"SOTI MobiControl could improve by being more user-friendly."
"The product’s features for managing Windows devices need improvement."
"I would like to see some SMS integration so people can send data directly from a mobile phone through SMS when there's no internet."
"I wish that I had some more tutorials and educational resources on how to use the product."
"They don't have systems that are built for redundancy. You have one database that manages everything and, if that database crashes, you have a problem."
"Pricing is a limitation. I think it's on the higher side, so if it were cheaper, it would benefit more organizations."
"They could provide DLP integration for applications and specific user account security."
"Lacks a modern enterprise mobility management platform."
"The length of time it takes to deploy an application could improve."
"There is room for improvement in customer service and support."
"Sometimes, we have challenges with remote patching and remote version upgrades."
"When it comes to deployment and maintaining security, there should be an integrated console where you have a singular view of all of the products from the same OEM."
"The pricing could always be better."
