Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Customer are able to develop more quickly versions in which users can see the application to correct and monetize it.""It identifies transactions and flows of the operations that our customers use with our mobile application.""The speed that you can get AppPulse out there was the brightest spot of this whole process.""The application is easy to use, as it is friendly and graphic.""The thing that I like about AppPulse is that it's easy application to install and an easy application to use to provide information for our customers.""AppPulse Active allows us to very quickly produce synthetic monitoring for our applications.""With Google Analytics, you choose what performance metrics you want to have reported, but with AppPulse Mobile, you have a global vision of what is really happening inside your app.""It provides a lot of customer insight, understanding the customer's needs, understanding the customer's issues, and it gives me a more proactive approach to solving a customer problem before it happens."

"The breakdown of the response time of different components and getting in-depth details of the slow component are the most valuable features. It is easy to use, and it gets the job done.""The solution is scalable, and it is easy because all the documentation is available.""The alert mechanism is quite accurate when something goes wrong in your system. For example, if you have hundreds of APIs on your server, and any of the APIs is not performing well, you get an alert. When there is a drop or change in the threshold value, the beauty of New Relic is that within a fraction of seconds, all the stakeholders who are configured in the New Relic system will get an alert. That's one good thing.""Support for plug-ins (RMQ, Redis etc.) is a valuable feature.""The most valuable feature of New Relic APM is the dashboard, New Relic Insights. I configured my own dashboard to monitor certain parameters.""The solution offers good documentation.""It has helped us maintain a much higher uptime than we had previously.""New Relic's dashboard is nice, and it's reliable. It's also compatible with many services, especially Java and the Python ecosystem."

Cons
"It needs compatibility for Windows Mobile, because I think AppPulse doesn't have Windows Mobile.""It could be better if you had any of the reports that the customers asked from us, for example, punctually. Unfortunately, the reporter is not that practical.""I would love if AppPulse delivered more details about my users, for example, age and sex. It could split up the users into categories based on how frequently they use my product.""The one that sticks out in my mind is some flexibility to do recurring downtime.""Currently, the information for management teams and technical teams are in the same view, but it would be useful if we could separate these views.""The regulations should be better customized for the kind of data that we cannot send to the SALs environment.""The ability to get CI information from AppPulse into OMi.""I think they can improve the feature that identifies the operating systems, the brand of the devices, the response time, geolocalization."

"It is complicated, especially in how you interpret the data that it provides. If it had a bit more canned, out-of-the-box features, especially some of the reporting features, that would be more useful.""In addition, its difficult to have a predictive tool to see how the application would behave in the future when it basically only shows the historical data.""There were some settings we had issues with.""I would like an infrastructure network that provides real-time views, showing the issues.""The price needs improvement.""New Relic APM could improve error debugging and the correlation with the logs. We are receiving some alerts or alarms but we need to correlate with the error log, but it is difficult if it is more than seven months retention period, it is hard to trace. We need this especially for getting historical information.""The deployment process could be improved.""They could improve the education process and how people understand that these tools are very technical. Right now, if someone was to pick it up from day one, it is a very steep learning curve."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It was a no-brainer from a cost perspective compared to the other tools that we buy as an IT organization."
  • More AppPulse Suite [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "New Relic is either free with low retention and minimal functionalities, or expensive with full options and retention."
  • "The monthly cost os $1000 per server per month, but it could be even more. We pay about $250 for the server, and then New Relic wants over $1000 to give us statistics on those servers."
  • "Cost is significant with a lot of extras."
  • "It would be nice if we could buy it annually instead of monthly."
  • "If it’s the right tool, it doesn’t matter what it costs because you’re going to get it back many-fold from your productivity."
  • "I recommend using the free version of New Relic. If you like the free version and understand its importance for your company, you can move to the trial. Then, you can migrate to the paid version."
  • "There is a picture which goes to your browser and it monitors requests from other users. However, it's impossible to use now because the price is very high. The feature is very nice, but I tried it during the trial period, and the current price makes it impossible to use."
  • "They gave us aggressive discounts when they were brought in for the first time, but they have also kept them for the year-on-year renewals, which has been absolutely fine."
