We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It scales in terms of numbers and types of identities. It can govern the on-premise applications as well as the cloud applications. So, it can manage hybrid environments with all types of identities and various load amounts.""The most valuable aspects of Omada Identity for me are the automation capabilities.""The most relevant feature is Omada's reporting engine. Omada never forgets. Everything you have done in the past is recorded in Omada. The system is only as good as the data you put in. If you have bad data, you will have bad results. Omada has a lot of logic and processes, but it isn't a machine learning system that can detect, for example, if an email address is written wrong.""We used to have a problem where an employee's access wasn't terminated when they left the company. Now, we have much better visibility into and control over who has access.""The best feature in Omada Identity is that it enables us to implement standardized employee life cycle processes so that we don't have to create them ourselves. We can then use the standard workflows. The breadth and scope of the solution’s IGA features also fulfill our requirements.""The most valuable aspect of the product is that it is Microsoft-based and it supports all Microsoft technology.""It has a lot of out-of-the-box features. It is flexible, and there are a lot of possibilities to configure and extend it. It is user-friendly. It has an interface that is end-user or business-user friendly.""The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships."

More Omada Identity Pros →

"OAuth 2 is now the de facto standard for API protection and scoped authorized delegation. IBM TAM now supports OAuth 2 and can act as fully compliant OAuth 2 authorization server.""Single Sign-On functionality is valuable because the core purpose of the product is to allow universal (or bespoke) SSO for application suites.""The Verify feature: A push method which customers are going for.""The integration effort with the end application is quite straightforward and easy.""SAML 2.0."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pros →

"It's a very useful tool that has improved our client's security, from day one.""It has good endpoint support and endpoint connectivity to different versioning endpoints.""Connector Xpress and Policy Xpress and the new interface.""Word mining and risk campaigns are the most valuable features of this solution.""The product is relatively easier to use than other identity management products.""Self-registration and self-service password management are valuable features. The role modeling feature is also very useful. It allows you to model your enterprise role.""I've used it to manage users, create and update, delete users, change passwords, and assign and change rules.""Provisioning engine (on the back-end, separate from front-end components, that's part of layered architecture)."

Cons
"The Omada Identity SaaS version doesn't provide all the features Omada Identity on-premise provides.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""The backend is pretty good but the self-service request access screen, the GUI, needs improvement. It's an old-fashioned screen. Also, Omada has reports, but I wouldn't dare show them to the business because they look like they're from 1995. I know they are working on these things and that’s good, because they’re really needed.""We are trying to use Omada's standards and to adapt our processes. But we have had some trouble with the bad documentation. This is something that they could improve on. It has not been possible for us to analyze some of the problems so far, based on the documentation. We always need consultants. The documentation should include some implementation hints and some guidelines for implementing the processes.""The user interface should have a more flexible design, where you can change it to your requirement.""The account management integration isn't bad, but it isn't plug-and-play like Microsoft Azure. You need some deep development knowledge to set up the connectors.""They need to improve the cost for small companies.""I would like to search on date fields, which is not possible now."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"Multi-factor authentication with social integration needs to improve.""Looking at their roadmap, they have a broad grasp of the security features which the industry needs.""The profiling element is incredibly robust, but also equally as complex, it requires an off-site course to be able to understand the context or the plethora of options available.""The self-service portal needs improvement.""An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) for the newer appliance versions for hosting the virtual appliances on AWS will help."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Cons →

"Identity Manager has a lack of entitlement support, unlike other products that I have worked with.""The directory has room for improvement. Also, the dashboards and, in particular, the KPI dashboard that shows the current user’s information needs reworking.""It has a large footprint which you'd expect to be much, much smaller. Just to run basic services, we have 10 different servers. Also, if it were easier to manage, that'd be useful.""Integration capabilities with other solutions and formats, including JSON, could be improved.""Reporting could be improved.""They provide a framework to develop your own connectors. A connector is a piece of software that integrates with the solutions that are not a part of the support matrix. Currently, it is difficult to create these connectors in this solution. Other solutions, such as NetIQ Identity, provide a better way to create your own connector. Currently, there is no cloud version. It should have a cloud version.""I find the API boring. I also faced issues while integrating with CA SSO.""The drawback with the CA Identity Manager is they don't have a connector to HR systems like SAP, or PeopleSoft, or Workday. That's a major drawback with the CA Identity Manager. For that we have to do lots of custom quoting to get data from HR systems. And if they could connect it to GRC systems, that's good to have in an identity product."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "The IBM prices are, as ever, extortionate, even with a business partnership, and high levels of discounts."
  • More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
  • "The price is flexible for our existing customers."
