"The dashboard I have found the most valuable in Fortinet FortiGate.""It's super reliable. I don't think I've ever had a reliability issue with it.""The features that I have found most valuable are that it is good to use, and most importantly, the pricing. The customer especially likes the discount when they trade up or something like that.""Fortinet FortiGate is a security device. It can optimize security on the networks of a company. It actually protects the company from attacks from outside. With FortiGate, you can categorize the users. You can create a group of users that can access all of the websites for their work. You can limit other users' access.""It's great for capturing the traffic and troubleshooting it.""Fortinet FortiGate's ease of management is the most valuable feature.""The network security and cloud security are most valuable.""The solution can scale well."

"It makes securing our cloud workload super easy, and we are able to push any sort of policy changes we need pretty quickly""All the features that we subscribe to from CloudGuard NGTP are valuable. All the threat prevention and access control features give us the network security that we expect.""Advanced check prevention is a great feature that provides threat intelligence at speed.""SSL/TLS traffic inspection features are used for advanced threat prevention against secure SSL traffic.""The solution is reliable.""Auto Scaling is one of the features that make me want to choose CloudGuard over actual HW.""The VPN features in CloudGuard Network Security have been the most valuable for us.""The solution's most valuable feature is scalability. Cons
"I think the only issue that needs improvement is the interface.""The security of Fortinet FortiGate could improve.""They should improve high CPU and memory usage that occurs.""Some of the web policy reports could be improved.""The reporting in Fortinet FortiGate could improve. Customers are having to purchase additional reporting components. When I have used the Sophos solution it is a complete solution, in Fortinet FortiGate you have to use additional tools to have the features needed.""The solution could be more secure and stable.""There were quite a few problems with the stability of the system.""Lacks sufficient security options."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"I would like to see a step-by-step initial installation of the firewall. That would be really helpful. Like in Oracle appliances, when you start it asks you, what's your current IP address? An initial setup should be a step by step and intuitive process. You click on "begin," it asks you some simple questions. You fill in the blanks - your current IP address, what you want to do, you want to set up a site to site VPN, for example, that kind of thing. That would be the smartest thing to have.""Lacks the ability to integrate with other security solutions.""CheckPoint CloudGuard could be better at solving cases.""There is room for improvement regarding the technical support provided.""They can improve their security features to the next advanced level so that their efficiency in catching the malware can become 100%, and there is no scope for any data loss or leakage from the system due to any issue.""It can be difficult to install properly without prior training""The documentation could be much better.""There is room for improvement in addressing bugs and support issues."

More Check Point CloudGuard Network Security Cons →

"The solution's pricing could be a problem for some small businesses.""The reporting part could be more user-friendly for troubleshooting and identifying network issues. It should be more easy for a normal user to identify the problem in their network.""The documentation is not straightforward.""In my experience the solution can be easier to configure with more documentation, we need more training.""Sophos Cyberoam UTM has room for improvement in specific rules-based objects and redesign. The solution also needs to improve in adding rules and policies, including renewing and finding policies.""On-box sandstorm should be available. As of now, it is from their cloud.""Hence, it needs to be easier to configure rules using the solution.""The solution is at its end of life and some of the appliances are finishing."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Fortinet has one or two license types, and the VPN numbers are only limited by the hardware chassis make."
  • "These boxes are not that expensive compared to what they can do, their functionality, and the reporting you receive. Fortinet licensing is straightforward and less confusing compared to Cisco."
  • "Go for long term pricing negotiated at the time of purchase."
  • "Work through partners for the best pricing."
  • "The value is the capability of having multiple services with one unique license, not having the limitation per user licensing schema, like other vendors."
  • "Easy to understand licensing requirements."
  • "We saved a bundle by not needing all the past appliances from an NGFW."
  • "The cost is too high... They have to focus on more features with less cost for the customer. If you see the market, where it's going, there are a lot of players offering more features for less cost."
  • More Fortinet FortiGate Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "On average, it is normally on the lower end, being less expensive than Palo Alto or Cisco."
  • "It is more expensive than other solutions and would be more competetive in the market if it came down in price."
  • "We pay approximately ‎€150,000 ($166,000 USD) per year."
  • "Licensing is simply by the number of hosts that you are looking to protect within your environment. It makes it much easier to ensure that you are covering your environment."
  • "There is flexibility in the different licensing models that are offered."
  • "The pricing is pretty high, not just for your capital, for what you have to pay upfront, but for what you pay for your annual software renewals as well, compared to a lot of other vendors. Check Point is near the top, as far as how much it's going to cost you."
  • "Pricing of CloudGuard is pretty fair when you have a single account. It's comparable with other cloud providers. But for our use case, it got really pricey when we had to deploy multiple CloudGuards on multiple accounts in different regions, because you can't have CloudGuard protecting multiple regions. That's the big thing."
  • "The pricing and licensing have been good. We just had to do a license increase for our portion of it. We had that done within a couple of days. Given the fact that it's purely a software-based license, it ends up being even quicker than doing it for an on-prem firewall."

  • "It is very reasonably priced as compared to other solutions in the market."
  • "Licensing is a bit costly, mostly for features requiring subscription."
  • "Licensing is very good value for the money."

  • "The price is very competitive and the licensing is easy."
  • "It’s value for the money. It’s functionally competitive with higher priced alternative brands."
  • "It is worth the value."
  • "Prices are very high."
