We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Microsoft Defender has a feature to protect each and every attachment. Even if it's an encrypted attachment, it will check for any potential threats.""Defender helps us prioritize threats across our organization.""There are several features that I consider valuable.""It also gives me good visibility because, with Defender, I'm using a Microsoft product to defend Microsoft products. The integration was really seamless and I have wide visibility because it picks up almost everything. Literally, I can see almost every activity that happens, from the e-mail to the workstation itself.""Threat Explorer is one of the features that I very much like because it is a real-time report that allows you to identify, analyze, and trace security attacks.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365's most valuable features are safe attachments and safe links.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is the ease of use.""Defender is a SaaS platform, so it offers more flexibility. Managing the permissions is easier. The solution's automated detection and response features are scalable."

"It is doing its work. It is doing what it was actually designed to do. It has ensured we don't have business email compromises, and it has also ensured that our brand Galaxy is unique all year round.""Administration of the email domains and custom filters are easily done via the web interface.""What I find the most valuable about Cisco Secure Email is that the logs are not that difficult to see even if you're not used to them. The logs are reasonably readable and diagnosing the problem is not too hard with them.""The strong point of the solution is that we hardly get any spam emails because of Cisco Secure Email.""Anti-Spam and Advanced Malware Protection are the most valuable features... and we also have the option to block Zero-day attacks.""There are a lot of filters for scam emails and things like that work out of the box. You can also use the antivirus features. I like its features.""The user interface was quite friendly, it was quite easy to use, unlike some other Cisco products. Anybody could use it. You don't have to be familiar with IT to be able to handle navigating it.""It's a bit easy to handle Cisco Secure Email; it's not that difficult. For the logs, which are in PDF format, it's not hard to read them. We don't need Wireshark much to analyze the logs."

"Its price is the most valuable. It is definitely one of the lowest price solutions.""An effective, functional, very good tool for controlling resources.""The most valuable feature of IceWarp is the chat rooms and file-sharing, they are useful. It is convenient that everything is in one place. You can easily share and collaborate documents, making the program's unity a significant advantage.""The product is used very extensively in my company since we have around 1,500 users using it. Also, there is no requirement for any administrators to manage the product by the people who own the solution.""IceWarp has multiple applications that are easy to use for many people.""The groupware module is the most valuable feature.""It has great communication capabilities for team chatting and web conferences.""It's scalable and stable."

Cons
"The UI needs to be more user-friendly.""Microsoft wants its well-paying customers to finish testing some of its half-baked products, find bugs, and report bugs back to Microsoft's team, which is a little frustrating for those who have to manage it and roll it up to thousands of people across the organization.""The only thing they should improve is the licensing model. They should stop changing it. A year ago, the five features I mentioned were included in one product. Now, three of them are bundled into one product, and you have to pay extra for the other two. I don't mind paying extra, but I don't want them to change it every year or every six months. I need to know what I'm looking at and not worry about it next year.""There's room for improvement regarding the time frame for retrieving emails.""Microsoft should provide more documentation for users so they can self-educate. I would like to see more documentation for advanced security features.""There is room for improvement with the UI.""Microsoft sometimes has downtime, and we'll get several incidents coming in back to back. We have a huge backlog of notifications, many of which may be false positives. However, there might be serious alerts, so we can't risk dismissing all of them at once.""You should be able to deploy Defender for every subscription without the need to add servers."

More Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Cons →

"We have Microsoft and we have the E5 licenses, they have more EDR responses on certain emails. That's something that Cisco ESA on the cloud doesn't have. They don't do anything about MITRE attacks. They only detect if there is a malicious email or a threat and they remove it.""I would rate the stability a six out of ten. We had multiple issues with the stability.""The UI is definitely one area of improvement because it doesn't match other interfaces and the navigation can be a little clunky.""We have been struggling in the last month with Cisco encryption and with the S/MIME encryption. I don't know if it is an issue on our side or if these features of the solution are not working very well.""One of the things that Cisco could improve on with IronPort is the support. Cisco doesn't really have enough engineers who have full, hands-on knowledge of IronPort. Knowledge of it is not something you can find easily compared to other security appliances.""The area of license renewal should be improved. We normally renew our license every year. There is a feature called smart licensing, and I switched from the legacy mode to the smart licensing mode because of what I thought smart licensing does. I thought it would make licensing renewal seamless and very swift, but ever since I've switched to smart licensing, each time I want to renew my license, it is a whole lot of headache. The process is not smooth, and I had to keep calling Cisco TAC to see how the issue can be resolved. At one point, I wanted to revert back to the legacy mode, but I can't revert. Once you switch from the legacy mode to the smart licensing mode, you can't revert. They should improve on the visibility of the smart licensing mode so that it can indeed be smart and easier to use for the license renewal every year. That is one challenge.""The hardware is not up to the mark. Two to three times a year we have complete downtime.""We didn't get any malware, but a few phishing emails, maybe one or two, slipped in."

More Cisco Secure Email Cons →

"Our customers sometimes have problems receiving mail.""Support should be improved. Most of the time, the queries are not resolved within the SLA.""Although it is not a tool, video conferencing should be scalable and operate in a professional and efficient way.""The tool's configuration capabilities are not straightforward. Apart from that, if I want to archive emails into a vault so that they can be retrieved again later, the integration doesn't work, and IceWarp crashes.""I would like to have a trial for mobile applications and more documentation similar to Google Drive with mobile applications.""Although the documentation is extensive and in depth, you must familiarize yourself with it before taking full advantage of the product.""The exchange compatibility mode is rather limited. Their technical support can also be better. They only provide online support, and there should be some option for escalating.""It is difficult to disable user rights on the console so some users accidentally delete their documents or user details."
