Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is less time-consuming to deploy the software.""The most valuable features are monitoring and processing, which can handle a lot of throughput and are more powerful than the HPE series.""The scalability is very good.""The GUI makes is simple to use and deploy.""The initial setup is pretty simple and straightforward.""The most valuable feature that the B-Series has is related to the structure and architecture of the solution because in these solutions, you are using fabric interconnect as an interconnect device. The beauty of fabric interconnect is that it can work as in-house mode.""In terms of the flexibility of the tool to adapt to technology needs, I think it is a very good solution.""The stability provided by the product is its most valuable feature for our organization."

"The solution is issue-free and works almost flawlessly.""The solution uses less cabling and less space in the data center.""The most valuable feature of the HPE BladeSystem is the ease of management and the robust design.""The most valuable feature, of course, is its size as I can build a huge compute resource on it.""One of the most valuable features I have found to be the enclosure. It is really easy to manage and everything is integrated. You are able to upgrade the software quite easily.""The product is quite stable. Its performance is reliable.""It is very stable.""The solution has good scalability."

Cons
"The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required.""The cost is expensive and has room for improvement.""Cisco UCS B-Series competitors have similar features as they do, Cisco needs to make some changes to make their offering better.""Next generation support for VMware needs to be introduced as it does not support eighth-generation VMware.""We have to have Java to manage the infrastructure. It would be great if we can manage the infrastructure through a web browser.""It is more expensive than the competitors.""The initial setup process is complex.""The initial setup is not easy."

"OA updates and upgrades have to be made simpler.""The tool must provide integration with the cloud.""The problem is that when want to expand with a new chassis, you have to do everything manually. It's not automatic.""It could always use new tools.""We had a few hard drives that crashed, and we couldn't find them locally. We've tried internationally, but we are still struggling to get its spare parts. This is the main challenge that we have faced with this solution. Fortunately, the other drives are still working. There should be easy availability of spare parts. I should be able to request a quotation online from HPE for things that I am not able to get locally. Currently, I can order online, but when I type the serial number, most of the time, it is rejected. I don't know why it is happening. It could be because the company that sold us the system didn't buy it through the normal HPE channel. HPE should assist us as users to get the spare parts. Its security needs to be beefed up. I would like some security features. It was also challenging for us to set it up because we didn't get enough training from them.""I am not sure if iLO is included or if there is a separate license. If it is not included, it should be included in the license. It is such a valuable feature especially because people are working remotely.""HPE BladeSystem could improve the communication between the server and the storage.""Storage capacity could be enhanced."

    Overview
Based on Intel Xeon processor E7 and E5 product families, Cisco UCS B-Series Blade Servers work with virtualized and non-virtualized applications to increase: Performance, Energy efficiency, Flexibility and Administrator productivity.
HP ProLiant BladeSystem share power, cooling, network, and storage infrastructure via the blade enclosure. Since equipment is not needed for each server, you get a dramatic reduction in power distribution units, power cables, LAN and SAN switches, connectors, adapters, and cables. And you can add the newest-generation technologies by simply changing individual components.
