We performed a comparison between Commvault Cloud and Microsoft Exchange based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two File Archiving solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable features of Commvault Complete Data Protection are the complete feature sets it provides in one platform. You are able to backup many different types of data, such as virtual machines, servers, cloud, endpoints, Microsoft Office365, and Gmail. The usage of the solution is flexible."
"Commvault can perform a backup no matter where you are, and it takes a backup every four hours. No matter when you come to the office, it'll take a backup if you're connected to the internet and check the system for online availability."
"It is easy to use and stable. It delivers what has been promised. When it says it can do something, it can actually do it, as opposed to some of its competitors."
"It's the leader in backup and archiving."
"The product's stability is good enough."
"What I found most valuable in Commvault Complete Data Protection is its deduplication technique, mainly because the solution has the highest deduplication ratio, giving you higher storage capacity."
"It's a software-based solution so we just need a license to expand it."
"We can use it on-premises and in the cloud."
"We've been using Exchange as an email platform. Our clients require multi-country, multi-regional email collaboration with controlled mail flow. The most valuable feature is the capability of message tracking and the protection of user data."
"I find the desktop version of Microsoft Exchange looks better than the online version. You can make it a white background. You might be able to make the online background white, but I have no idea how to do that. I know how to do it only on the desktop version"
"The search tools are good."
"The technical support services are good."
"The initial setup is quite a straightforward process. I don't think it is a very complicated solution. Plenty of things could be more complex, but the ordinary, general settings are quite simple."
"The best features are that Exchange is very customer-friendly, its interface is self-explanatory, it doesn't hang, and it keeps evolving."
"Exchange is very scalable, it's one of the most important things about this software."
"Exchange is a robust system that is well suited for an enterprise environment. It's always up, and we hardly face any technical issues. Exchange has a web interface and integrates perfectly with Microsoft Outlook. This web interface can be easily used to change the passwords from the domain controllers."
"Its dashboard could be improved to provide a summarized version of all the jobs instead of having to go through each one of them. We should easily be able to glance at all issues. If I had not gone with the on-premise version, I would have had regular reports with the cloud version. It would be an advantage if they increase the compression rate of the backup. I am keeping it on-prem, so I'll need more disks depending on the policies that I have in the retention period. Its price could also be lower. If a good solution can be cheaper, it is always an advantage."
"We've faced problems backing up our virtual machines."
"The initial setup is rather complex, especially when switching versions."
"Its technical support could be better."
"The solution is expensive in comparison to similar solutions."
"If I were to ask them to work on something, it would be the fidelity of the alerts that occur. They should tell me if it is a real event or not. It is easy for it to identify that something hit it but give me more information. They can build AI into the engine so that I get better output from an alert to tell me if I should really be interested in that or not."
"The back of virtual machines needs improvement. I know they're working on it. They're always doing new things but I think they still have a little bit more to do."
"The functional integration could be better."
"From a security perspective, Microsft Exchange can be improved. All that needs to be added is security, but that's an internal hierarchical problem from the product itself and not the end-users."
"From a security point of view, Microsoft should enhance the new features. Technical support could also be better."
"When an update wants to come, it should just come maybe once or twice rather than having us deal with constant updating."
"Its search functionality can be better. It is currently not really easy. It has the capability to search your mailbox, but it has some restrictions in terms of the number of results that you can retrieve. You can only get around 250 results. If you want to do a deeper search, you need to use different functionalities of the product. The policy that we have for handling emails is that we do not delete emails at all. If I insert the text that I am searching for in the Search field, it only retrieves a limited number of emails. To search for an email from 2010, I need to use different search functions to find what I am looking for. Microsoft can also improve its licensing for its products. Microsoft's licensing is not very easy to understand. It can sometimes be really complex to understand what you need to have in order to comply with Microsoft licensing."
"Microsoft Exchange could improve security. They can elevate a lot of security features."
"There are limitations in terms of the number of emails that can be sent in a minute, which makes it a little difficult for the marketing folks."
"There is a lot of spam email that comes in, so they should add functionality to help fix this problem."
"Microsoft Exchange could improve by adding artificial intelligence."
