We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The interface is user-friendly.""The use of the RAM cache allows you to speed up the writing and reading of data while also allowing for a possible increase in performance by increasing the RAM on the servers.""I'd have to say that the biggest improvement gained by using SANsymphony has to be the performance of the product.""Continuous data protection (CDP), can be used to "protect" again ransomware by recording all write on disk in a log. You can recover your data with incredible time granularity.""The features I have found most valuable are the active-active, or so-called grid technology, and the integration into our VMware-vCenter.""Auto-tiering to obtain performance at a lower cost without the customer having to purchase ultra-fast storage is great.""It is a very stable solution.""Active-active is the most valuable aspect for us."

"Apart from the main features, I really appreciate OpenStack's microservices architecture and its flexibility for deployment with different tools.""The documentation was plentiful and very helpful.""The solution is stable.""It created a reusable library with OpenStack features.""I like its integration with GitLab and its simplicity. OpenStack has a lot of third-party libraries that it uses.""The most valuable feature is the customization. With the customization you can really give the customers what they want.""The initial setup isn't too difficult.""There are many services that can be directly used which are not available in VMware."

Cons
"We'd like to manage the raid on the disk directly in SanSymphony.""I would like to see SMPA (Shared Multi-Port Array) technology developed with the aim of allowing a configuration identical to other storage arrays.""SANsymphony is missing some features that vSAN has. For example, vSAN has a special feature called continuous data protection. It provides the ability to go back in time to a given moment. You can see what was on your disk in the past up to two weeks. That's a great feature because ransomware attacks are increasingly common, and that provides you some kind of protection.""I still see room for improvement with DataCore SANsymphony in the area of alarm and task management.""If it could integrate to a cloud gateway, then we could carry it directly to storage, instead of having middleware in between the storage and the cloud.""I think an easier way to open a service call, right through the DataCore GUI, would be an improvement, especially when there is an urgent issue.""Having an enterprise "Storage Dashboard" that can show capacity, usage, performance, and any issues would be very beneficial.""Management could be improved. The management console sometimes reacts very slowly."

"The line migration is a problem.""The seamless integration between MySQL services and the rabbitMQ database can be revised during the debugging phase.""VMware has a side-to-side replication feature, which is still more mature than Rackspace OpenStack's which can't be used in a production environment.""It could use more examples in different languages (API use cases).""OpenStack's UI, while user-friendly, could be improved to offer a more intuitive experience.""So for the main stability, there have been a couple of issues that I've experienced.""OpenStack is difficult for the novice in terms of beginning to use cloud tools."
