We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With Epicor, we can call a pitch between Epicor and the PLM database, which is a significant advantage.""There's good flexibility within the inbuilt tools such as alerts, business process management, dashboards, and screen customization.""The ability to deploy a generic implementation without advanced customization.""Real-time results make for faster decision making.""The most valuable features of Epicor ERP are ease of use, powerful API, and comprehensive integration. It is a one-vendor solution, where other vendors need other software systems from multiple vendors.""Dashboards and Business Activity Query are very useful.""The product enables users to customize their dashboards and reports.""Epicor ERP is very technical friendly, if you want to do any customization, it's very easy."

"It's a scalable product.""Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze.""The technical ability to run runtime APIs is great.""It was easy to set up the product.""The procure-to-pay is core to our business and relevant to us.""The solution is good for small businesses.""The solution has other core processes that can be implemented with customers according to their needs.""It is a solution for GFMIS (Governmental Fiscal Management Information Systems)."

Cons
"The tool should provide a better user interface.""There's a new version of the solution that has some bugginess. They're cleaning that up. The user interface is an area that needs improvement and they're improving.""There are some glitches in Epicor ERP.""A number of bugs in 9.05 were only fixed in 10.""In the newer version of Epicor ERP, it's very difficult to find out that tracing.""Right now, it doesn't really have a good cloud story.""I would like to see a better reporting tool.""Epicor didn't care about user level and software applications. So, it's not so user-friendly for nontechnical people."

More Epicor ERP Cons →

"There are some business-specific processes still not implemented.""The implementation took a long time but it was for many reasons. However, Oracle made sure that the solution and systems were up and running.""There are always some bugs and missing patches.""Movement to the cloud should be supported. Product support still needs to be improved.""Oracle is not keeping up on development of the on-premises version of this product as they are concentrating on cloud solutions.""Oracle E-Business Suite is a bit outdated because it's been developed more than ten years ago, and this is an area for improvement. My team is still getting used to the solution, so there could still be some features that have not been enabled or features my team isn't aware of yet. There have been issues with the Treasury module of Oracle E-Business Suite, so this is another area for improvement. My company hasn't decided yet on whether to implement the Treasury module or just go with another solution. Another room for improvement in Oracle E-Business Suite is the design, as it needs to be optimized based on usage patterns. What I'd like added in the next release of Oracle E-Business Suite is the time attribute. The solution still has dashboards being rolled out, so the time attribute could already be there or is still in the process of implementation. I also didn't find much use for the Projects module based on my company's requirements. The integration of Oracle E-Business Suite with the rest of the Oracle tools isn't very tight as well, but it could be because of customizations here in India, where the integrations work seamlessly everywhere, except in India. You'll find gaps because of customizations in India which are very, very irritating. For example, if a procurement is moving in the system then all the data has to move from one module to the other, but in the Oracle E-Business Suite Procurement module, you'll notice breaks or gaps that require you to manually transfer that data, so I'd like this improved in the next release of the solution.""The reporting needs to be improved.""The EBS Design to some extent is still monolithic."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “
