We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"As the solution is a software as a service, the scalability is unlimited.""Intune device restriction policies enable me to enforce limitations on the device, like blocking the mobile camera or restricting the employees from using and inserting USB devices, including thumb drives and flash drives.""I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management.""...Intune itself integrates with that entire Microsoft ecosystem. As an individual product itself, it's okay. It holds up. But when you start saying "I've bought this as part of a wider solution, as a company we are going Microsoft throughout," then it makes more sense to have Microsoft Intune... so you have that single dashboard.""For the price, the features included with Microsoft are appealing.""The initial setup is not overly complex or difficult.""We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera""The dashboards, the security, and the customization capabilities work very well for us."

"It can change policies based on geolocation or schedules.""MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly.""The most valuable features are mobile device management and security (which allows you to quarantine infected devices).""Maas360 uses distribution groups to deploy apps, which makes it a bit easier than, for example, Intune.""Mobile Device Configuration with policy applying: This significantly reduces time of device configuration.""The most valuable feature is the fact that we can find a lost device or shut the device down and wipe it is good for HIPAA.""The graphic, friendly interface allowed us to start without almost any support from the manufacturer.""The implementation phase of IBM MaaS360 was pretty easy."

More IBM MaaS360 Pros →

"It is like any other mobile solution. It gives us the ability to control remotely, and that is what we like. We can wipe out and deploy remotely.""We can do single sign-on and make use of the same user account to log into multiple applications.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The product has fully automated features that help people do tasks easily.""The product offers integration capabilities with third-party solutions.""The most valuable features of VMware Workspace ONE are security and having support for all the latest features that are coming out from Apple. They're pretty fast at adopting new features. This is one of the most vital aspects of mobile device management systems.""We've configured single sign-on for two or three enterprise customers, and it works very well.""If an end-user has an issue with a device, the administration has the ability to remote access the device after approval from the end-user."

Cons
"Microsoft Intune's support for Mac devices is lacking and could be improved.""The solution could be improved by the opportunity to connect third-party application databases, such as Chocolatey or another setup store, to Intune.""When somebody has a customized application or their own company's application, we cannot deploy that application.""We only have major classifications for iOS and Android, but there are different brands that have different cycles of updates. If they can fine-tune it to make it more brand-specific, that would be even better.""The reports aren't complete, and it's not easy to build custom reports. For example, Windows Autopilot isn't working well in cases where the computers don't have a good internet connection. Then the option is not good enough.""Cost is the biggest factor for us right now. Microsoft Intune and AD P1 together in a bundle is a good thing to have, but it is very costly compared to other products in the market. Otherwise, Microsoft Intune is the best.""The difficulty of the the roll out is surprisingly difficult considering this product is supposed to be an integrated part of the 365 suite.""There should be more support for macOS. Even though macOS is supported by Intune and Microsoft is working very hard to get more features into Intune to manage macOS, that's one thing they can give a lot more attention to."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"When we have MaaS360 installed on smartphones, it consumes the battery of the device at a much faster pace. This is one of the areas of improvement that I would like to highlight. We have also observed that in the contact list, a lot of duplication is happening. A single contact is duplicated three or four times, which also consumes more memory resources. If they can work on improving it for these aspects, it will have a more positive impact not only on the way the application is being consumed by the user but also on user satisfaction. A lot of new features are being deployed or rolled out by companies that are competitors of IBM MaaS360. IBM will have to ensure that all those features are on board so that we have a complete suite of features in the platform, rather than deploying multiple diverse solutions to cater to the requirements of our customers.""The user interface could definitely use some improvement.""User interface is basic and not very intuitive.""An area for improvement would be handshaking with Microsoft in terms of trying to get a DLP on Microsoft OS.""Local technical support would be helpful.""Configuring policies is difficult in IBM MaaS360. It also needs to improve usability.""The UI has room for improvement.""It would be ideal to add support for the distribution of windows.exe applications."

More IBM MaaS360 Cons →

"Patching, fixing, and training for VMware Workspace ONE are areas that need to be improved.""There should be better compatibility with Linux devices.""I tried to use the tool on an encrypted disk, but it was inconvenient.""Windows 10 management is there, but VMware only recently developed that part, and it's not fully mature. Patch management and other integrations are there as well as the application-pushing part, command line, mandatory commands, etc. Some out-of-the-box solutions should be available to better integrate a broader range of applications and handle application push. That's the roadmap we should look at.""The technical support could be improved.""The console comes bunched together as a package and inbuilt. Its called Workspace ONE. Whenever we have an issue, we contact the service provider, and instead of a fix, we are just getting the next version of Workspace ONE.""This product makes use of SAML across the board, which has seven known security flaws. It would be good if the company created a way to protect against SAML flaws. One way would be to integrate a firewall server or an endpoint out in the cloud with which you could establish trust. If you knew nothing about SAML and you did some Google searches about what SAML is, what are the flaws, and what are the known vulnerabilities, eventually, you'll find that there are seven flaws. There are two methods that you can use to solve those seven problems. They essentially involve putting a firewall or putting rules, such as access controls, so that anybody in the world can't just come in, authenticate, and either be a good guy or be someone trying to knock on my door and get into my house. If I could eliminate that, it would be awesome.""VMware Workspace ONE can improve in virtual reality. Customers are now looking toward virtual reality devices. Though it supports virtual reality, it's treated as an Android device. Customers want to deal with VR devices, they want a specific VR tool. Not an Android device VR tool."

  • "I feel the pricing to be very high."
  • "MaaS360 is priced at a balance. It is not as expensive as AirWatch or Jamf and is not a cheap solution like a few of the local products."

  • "The pricing and licensing are affordable. They are not too high."
  • "I think the pricing of the product needs advisement. It would be great to bundle the VM products together. I think the actual box itself should be included in the license. At present, it is not paired with the mobile device."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

IBM MaaS360 is an EMM solution that allows you to configure devices for enterprise access and protect corporate data on smartphones and tablets – all from a single screen. Deployment is so fast that in just a few clicks, IT admins can start enrolling devices and quickly manage the entire mobile device lifecycle. They can do everything from enrollment to enterprise integration, support, configuration and management, monitoring and security, analytics, and reporting.

    Reviews from Real Users

Below is some feedback from our PeerSpot users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Patrick B., Cybersecurity Architect at a tech services company, says, "Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."

Roshan T., Partner Manager North America at a tech company, mentions how satisfied he is with the product, saying, "You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed."
