We performed a comparison between Juniper SRX Series Firewall and Trellix Network Detection and Response based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Netgate, Fortinet, OPNsense and others in Firewalls."We can detect any attack of viruses or malware at the first point of contact."
"The most valuable feature of FortiGate is FortiView which provides proactive monitoring."
"Overall, the pricing of the solution is very good. The product offers good value."
"This product is definitely scalable."
"The VPN is the most valuable feature."
"Its user interface is good, and it is always working fine."
"Whenever we raise a complaint with FortiGate, their response and resolution times are minimal."
"The most valuable features are the enterprise modeling and the simple interface."
"Juniper SRX is a very powerful firewall and sometimes can be used as a router."
"It helps us perform our daily jobs."
"The solution's stability is very good."
"It is a complete security bundle. The cloud-based Sky Advanced Threat Prevention feature is very valuable. I am 100% satisfied with the performance of the Juniper firewall. It has a very good throughput. It works very fine. We use our firewall as a site-to-site VPN or Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN). In both cases, it has a very good and optimum performance. Their service support is very good in India. I get really good support from the Juniper team."
"The most powerful feature in Juniper SRX is definitely NCLS."
"Using a Juniper CLI, you configure a "candidate configuration", then "commit" it to bring it live. If you do not like it or messed up something, you just "rollback" to the previous configuration. It can all be done in a matter of minutes. This is super handy once you get use to it."
"The technical support is quite good."
"The main features are safeguarding their data and ensuring robust security services for organizational data."
"We see ROI in the sense that we don't have to react because it stops anything from hurting the network. We can stop it before we have a bigger mess to clean up."
"Initially, we didn't have much visibility around what is occurring at our applications lower level. For instance, if we are exposed to any malicious attacks or SQL injections. But now we've integrated FireEye with Splunk, so now we get lots of triggers based on policy content associated with FireEye. The solution has allowed for growth and improvement in our information security and security operations teams."
"The sandbox feature of FireEye Network Security is very good. The operating system itself has many features and it supports our design."
"Before FireEye, most of the times that an incident would happen nobody would be able to find out where or why the incident occurred and that the system is compromised. FireEye is a better product because if the incident already happened I know that the breach is there and that the system is compromised so we can take appropriate action to prevent anything from happening."
"Improved our systems and our customers' by providing better malware protection, defense against zero-day threats, and improved network security."
"The scalability has not been a problem. We have deployed the product in very high bandwidth networks. We have never had a problem with the FireEye product causing latency issues within our networks."
"The server appliance is good."
"The solution can scale."
"They should make the rule sets more understandable for the end user. When you're trying to explain to somebody how a computer network is secured, sometimes it's difficult for an end user or customer to understand. If there was a way to make the terminology more accessible to the end user, the set up could be easier. They should translate the technical jargon to an easily relatable and understandable conversation for the end user, the customer, that would be brilliant. Particularly in an environment where the IT structure is audited regularly, there's always pressure from the auditor to up the standards and up the security and you get your USCERT's that come out and there's a warning about this and the customer will want to lock out so much and when you apply it they run into issue where they can't search the internet or print to their remote office. Of course they can't print to your remote office, they just locked it up. They should make the language more understandable for the customer. If there's a product out there that made the jargon understandable to John Q. Public, I would buy that."
"The performance and speed are aspects of the solution that could always be improved upon."
"Fortinet doesn't provide multiple virtual firewalls which would facilitate end users and customers."
"It claims it does DLP, but the degree and level of controls are very basic."
"The Wi-Fi controller needs a lot of improvement."
"Due to its higher cost, Fortinet FortiGate can lead to increased operational expenses."
"This product needs to have an analysis feature, rather than having the analysis done through the integration of a different product."
"One area for improvement is the performance on the bandwidth demands for smaller devices, as well as better web filtering."
"As a networking person, I don't really have any major issues with this device. Based on my experience of using it in a cluster, it could be more stable. I had an incident when one of the SRXs in a cluster couldn't learn ARP. It is a good solution, but firewalls don't seem to be an area of development for Juniper. They are focusing on data centers, routers, and switches, not firewalls."
"It would be good if Junos had "unique commands" between all hierarchical levels, discarding the use of the "Run" command."
"The Juniper SRX product needs to improve in terms of innovation."
"The GUI needs to be easier and more helpful for users who don't have security experience."
"Third-party support for Juniper is a lot less than Cisco. This is no surprise, but a definite consideration if you are expecting to use a lot of third party support. In my guesstimate, for every 100 Cisco shops, you will find one Juniper shop."
"In terms of other features, I'd like to see a web filter, 10 point control, application control and a DNA filter in the next release."
"It could be more secure."
"I would like to have a better web UI for administration. Juniper could simplify the web UI and make it more compatible with mobile devices."
"A better depth of view, being able to see deeper into the management process, is what I'd like to see."
"I would love to see better reporting. Because you can't export some of the reports in proper formats, it is hard to extract the data from reports."
"Certain features in Trellix Network Detection and Response, such as using AL-type commands, may initially pose a challenge for those unfamiliar with such commands. However, once users become accustomed to the system, it becomes easier to use."
"Its documentation can be improved. The main problem that I see with FireEye is the documentation. We are an official distributor and partner of FireEye, and we have access to complete documentation about how to configure or implement this technology, but for customers, very limited documentation is available openly. This is the area in which FireEye should evolve. All documents should be easily available for everyone."
"It doesn't connect with the cloud, advanced machine learning is not there. A known threat can be coming into the network and we would want the cloud to look up the problem. I would also like to see them develop more file replication and machine learning."
"The problem with FireEye is that they don't allow VM or sandbox customization. The user doesn't have control of the VMs that are inside the box. It comes from the vendor as-is. Some users like to have control of it. Like what type of Windows and what type of applications and they have zero control over this."
"It would be a good idea if we could get an option to block based upon the content of an email, or the content of a file attachment."
"It is not a very secure product."
