We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Remote Wipe and Autopilot is one of the best features.""It is a comprehensive security solution that not only controls access to enterprise resources but also tracks and prevents unauthorized access, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and preventing potential data loss scenarios.""The tool's most valuable feature is Autopilot.""...Intune itself integrates with that entire Microsoft ecosystem. As an individual product itself, it's okay. It holds up. But when you start saying "I've bought this as part of a wider solution, as a company we are going Microsoft throughout," then it makes more sense to have Microsoft Intune... so you have that single dashboard.""It is a helpful tool to manage BYOD policies.""A valuable feature is user enrollment, where users can enroll their devices in their organizations themselves.""Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space.""I like how Microsoft Intune lets me lock down the email profile and make it accessible only on certain devices."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"It gives us the ability to have a container and the most secure possible application.""It was a big improvement to activate applications with one authentication. That was a big plus for the user experience.""The most important features would be instant messaging and the security that we get from the containerization.""The most important feature is Blackberry Work, for sure, because that is where you have email.""It does support hardware and operating system configurations from every angle.""It keeps things secure, it can remotely wipe the container and it's fairly easy to use.""Cylance, their newest antivirus product, is the most valuable feature for us so far.""The technical support for the solution is excellent."

More BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite Pros →

"We've found the scalability to be very good.""The tool's most valuable features are application, distribution, and security. It helps to block user access.""We introduced the product as part of the SOC-2 requirement. The tool's most valuable features include keeping the operating system updated, tracking software inventory, controlling computer administrators, and the ability to wipe a computer in case of a security threat. It helps us to be compliant, and it is one of the reasons we implemented it.""It is a stable solution.""It allows us to have an updated inventory of all the devices in real-time with the ability to add personalized information.""MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly.""Using this solution has made things more convenient. Earlier, we had to depend a lot more on IT to find and resolve our issues.""The best feature is the ability to control mobile phones, wipe and containerize the data, and keep employees' work data separate from personal data."

Cons
"It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features.""Microsoft Intune lags market leaders, such as Apperian, in its MAM capabilities.""For an existing customer who has an SCCM, it would need to be upgraded to an MECM first before I can introduce Microsoft Intune.""The technical support could be improved.""Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there.""It would be better if I could integrate it with my core group policy. I would like to have a group policy in my current environment, which has strict control, but those things are still missing. Although it has maximum compliance and security, it's not available on-premise.""The scalability could be improved, and like most other MDM products, Intune is good but not 100% there yet.""The configuration and pricing can be improved."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The entry level support needs improvement, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that we do not have premium support. Therefore, we have to go through Level 1 support for any issues.""What we don't have at the moment is RDP from the device to some kind of PC. Another feature would be access to a delegate's mailbox and I think that is to come in one of the next releases. There have been a lot of requests for that type of feature where, for example, a secretary can access the mailbox of the boss.""The installations on the device could be simpler. It is a good solution, and all the features are there. So, there isn't a lot to improve. I'm sure they already have their thought process on how to improve it.""It would be nice if there was an easier way for team members to get onboarded in regards to what they have to do on the device. There are some programs like Apple DEP and Samsung Knox. Unfortunately, with these programs, to get existing users onto them, you have to factory wipe your device. If it did not have the DEP capabilities, it would be nicer if it did not have so many steps to go through. That is our biggest complaint from team members. It has too many steps.""We cannot integrate BlackBerry Edit from BlackBerry Enterprise. BlackBerry Edit has issues when we are editing any document. We have other internal applications that we can use for documents, but we cannot edit into BlackBerry Edit. There's room for improvement with editing documents.""It's too difficult to manage ourselves. We have to get a third-party in to do that. The fact that it breaks on some end-users' devices is also a concern and just the frequency and complexity of upgrades is not ideal.""As far as being able to remotely wipe a device, or remove it from the console, this is not simple to do. It is not a one-click motion, as it requires several steps.""It would be ideal if there was something for communication with Microsoft tools like Teams or Skype for Business, or perhaps even with Zoom for conference calls."

More BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite Cons →

"The reporting and alerting could be improved.""They should allow for the building of custom reports with graphics.""Zero day support is something they can work on. They can make it a little bit more user-friendly.""We opted to go with Microsoft Intune because it just seemed to be a more mature and comprehensive enterprise solution, whereas IBM MaaS360 didn't seem to have the necessary breadth to manage all of our equipment. Along with laptops, I've had some BYODs. IBM MaaS360 just didn't seem as mature in our assessment.""IBM MaaS360 needs to have stronger points when it comes to the area of BYOD.""The price could be lower.""IBM MaaS360 can improve the information provided for DLP control. Some of our customers would benefit from this.""IBM MaaS360 can improve the location reporter. There is a 15-minute delay and this does not allow for any usefulness."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
  • "There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
  • "Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
  • "The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
  • "I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
  • "The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
  • "For Microsoft 365 E5 clients, cost is not an issue as this product is one of the benefits."
  • "The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
  • More Microsoft Intune Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "With the new licensing model, there seems to be a significant increase in cost, which makes it difficult to push forward and talk with the business."
  • "In my opinion, we're paying an awful lot for what we get, compared to other vendors. I don't deal with the pricing, but it does seem to be a bit pricey for the things that we get, especially, when you compare them to other vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, who have all bought up other players in this space. VMware offers AirWatch free as part of their packages."
  • "Sometimes, it is very hard to get an overview because there are so many different suites to find out what is the right thing for new customers."
  • "We pay about $6 a year for the solution. There are no extra costs on top of that. You save a lot of money when you use this product."
  • "We currently pay by the year, but the licenses are calculated on a monthly basis."
  • "The licensing costs are paid on a yearly basis because we just renewed the license. If you have some big issue, they will also charge you."
  • "It was on a yearly support contract, and the licenses were perpetual. There was also the implementation cost and the support cost for the integrator."
  • "We are paying $200 annually. You also need to have a hardware server or a license for the server so there could be some additional fees added on to that."
  • More BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It requires zero investment in infrastructure since it is 100% cloud."
  • "Fees are monthly and it's approximately $8 per user."
  • "Price is something for which we are always under pressure. If we have to look at the MaaS deployment, the price definitely has to come down. This is clearly one of the areas that we will have to work on, not only as a provider to our customers but also as a consumer of this service."
  • "I feel the pricing to be very high."
  • "MaaS360 is priced at a balance. It is not as expensive as AirWatch or Jamf and is not a cheap solution like a few of the local products."
  • "The licensing structure is broken down into levels, each with different functionalities available. Depending on your license, there may be additional fees for extra features."
  • "There are other solutions cheaper than IBM MaaS360, such as Microsoft Intune."
  • "The solution is expensive."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

The BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite offers five editions to meet your enterprise’s evolving mobile needs. Growth can happen quickly, and the BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite is designed to provide a seamless transition to the more advanced capabilities in higher-level editions. The subscription model ensures predictable annual expenditures and eliminates upfront capital costs.
