We performed a comparison between HPE 3PAR StoreServ and Tintri VMstore based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two All-Flash Storage solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It is an easy to use product for all of my team members."
"Provides fast access and is user-friendly."
"The connections are a lot faster than what we had in the past. One InfiniBand does what we did on all of our Fibre Channels."
"It is an SSD array that has awesome performance, low submillisecond latency, and does what it is supposed to do. It just works, which is difficult for things to do anymore."
"It has good stability for our company."
"The predictive performance analytics are good."
"This solution has improved our organization in the way that we used to see latency but now with this solution we don't. It also has good performance. Latencies have come down for our performance in the SQL databases. We can put a lot more in a lot less in terms of space savings. We also save data center space have good deduplication."
"Because of the encryption, we have different storage and the encryption can go over both."
"The solution has increased our performance by about 40 percent."
"The solution, stability, and the performance work well for us."
"So far, we have yet to have a disk fail on either system, other than one I forced to fail when we first got the system in. So the reliability of the 3PAR system has been outstanding."
"You can scale it out almost indefinitely."
"I am impressed with the product's online upgrades."
"It is a stable solution."
"The speed is very good."
"Its snapshot capability is the most valuable feature, because replicate our databases from production to nonproduction for development. This allows us to do it very quickly."
"The ease and use and the great performance are why we went with our 2nd Tintri VMstore."
"The most valuable feature is the VM management."
"Its speed has been absolutely fantastic."
"The data encryption feature adds a valuable security enhancement with no impact on performance."
"The management dashboards keep improving and allow for quick and easy tracing of issues."
"The most valuable aspect of the solution was how fast it worked on behalf of VDI desktops."
"Simplicity of installation and management, high IOPS, management per VM, QoS, power and space saving."
"Web GUI for maintenance and resource monitoring purposes is easy to use."
"The scalability of the solution is not as good as it probably could be."
"FlashArray's capacity for forecasting should be improved because it needs to be a bit more current. I think it's bundled with the deduplication and other compression factors. We need more user interfaces for forecasting in this software and more interfaces need to be integrated with this array management tool."
"It took us a year to get it to stabilize and to get the best out of Pure."
"It is a bit expensive."
"The primary drawback is the cost, which can be prohibitive for small configurations."
"They have a product, FlashBlade, which is their object storage integration, and that's something that we haven't integrated with yet. This might be an area for additional focus as it would play into scalability, because the very nature of object storage is that it's infinitely scalable."
"This product has only two active controllers, whereas other solutions can have more. This is something that needs to improve."
"I would rate this solution an eight. There's always room for improvement, nobody is perfect to get a ten out of ten. They do what they do well. It's not cheap but we it's for uses that we needed."
"The speed of the hard disk could be better. The performance is the main issue for us. The performance of the VMs is not comparable to desktop machines, for instance, and we might need another solution to improve the performance. Other than that, we don't have any issues. We already have a great part of storage with SSDs, and the performance is not as good as I expected."
"HPE 3PAR StoreServ has limited flexibility in building replication solutions. There are limitations to the number of IOPS the system can do. It's not bad as it is doing its job. However, for the application, if you need a toolbox, you can build everything concerning periodic replication modes of synchronous or asynchronous three-site, four-site, with supported cascading which requires you to buy an IBM product. It also takes a few hours to one day to upgrade the system and sometimes; it takes more time because, in some HPE 3PAR StoreServ 20000 Storage, you have an eight-node system. If you do an upgrade, you do it node by node and every node might take more than an hour."
"In the next release, I would like to see faster upgrades, where it's really transparent to our host and our end-users."
"I would like to see more storage, a better interface, and to move from mechanical disks."
"The new feature sets, like deduplication and compression, are complex to work with. I hope when I view the roadmap that they will be less complex."
"I give it an eight because of the support, that I can't get support in my country. This is the worst part. Support cannot be sold until we are out of the sanctions."
"I would like to have single click upgrades because the process is cumbersome right now."
"We need longer names for our volumes. Now it's only 28 characters. It should be 64, or at least more than 32 characters."
"More cloud integration."
"I'm waiting to see the Kubernetes package. I know they're releasing one, but I haven't seen it yet."
"I would like it to have the ability to store data other than virtual machines. At the moment, you can only connect VMs to it, and that’s a bit disappointing."
"I would love more insight into each virtual machine statistic."
"Tintri need to be able to innovate faster but maintain the quality of their features."
"It would be beneficial if Tintri could identify issues through telemetry and notify us before we need to contact them."
"I would like to be able to add more storage capacity to our 2 units down the road with out buying an additional seprate array."
"The solution is already good but the brand name is not so popular here."
