We performed a comparison between BigFix and Trend Micro Apex One based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance."
"This has very much improved our organization by saving time to deploy thousands of endpoints to our customers."
"In terms of vulnerability management, it gives tough competition by providing a single management console with multiple benefits."
"Desktop patching is the most valuable feature, because with servers, we have complete control over them, and we can simply push patches to the servers."
"Almost every feature is wonderful in BigFix. It is very stable, and we can rely on it. It is an awesome tool."
"BigFix is incredibly fast and accurate in patching, reporting, and remediation."
"Before we had BigFix, we had problems with some malware. BigFix allows us to immediately patch all instances of endpoints that were vulnerable to antivirus and initiate scans. That's key."
"Vulnerability scanning and patch automation."
"I like the inventory and life cycle management feature."
"The solution is powerful, simple to use, and very flexible. Having the solution in the cloud allows us to do remote work from anywhere."
"DLP is a solid feature in the product. I like it very much. It is very useful in our environment. It is also a very stable solution. Their support is also very good."
"The solution is stable and scalable."
"The solution offers quick and timely updates."
"The AI and machine learning feature is the most valuable because it helps mitigate threats based on an organization's behavioral patterns."
"Its scalability and the central point of XDR so that all items are centrally reporting to one solution are the most valuable features."
"I like Apex Central. We can manage all the Trend Micro products from one console."
"The most favorable features have been behavior monitoring and zero-day threat protection."
"The solution is not stable."
"FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting."
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team."
"I would like to see the Self Service section made more user-friendly."
"The console interface is not friendly, and requires training before using it in production."
"The only thing that I don't like about BigFix is that it does not support other devices such as printer firmware, router firmware, and things like that. I will be happy if I can control everything and get everything else in there, even if it is just a line item. They can do some enhancements to the Web UI. I am trying to get customers to be able to manage their environment by using Web UI, and it would be good if we can delete endpoints by using Web UI. We should also be able to generate Excel content or data tables from the Web UI without having to go to the console. It is small stuff, and it drives me crazy that I have to go to another console to do these things."
"The scalability of the web UI product doesn't scale to the size that we need for our implementation so it needs to expand. I would also like to see the capability to develop on the back of the web UI capability. There are lots of web features and integrations that we could do with web UI that it would be nice to be able to put on top of what's already there, rather than waiting for IBM to develop what we need."
"Sometimes there is a lag time for our users."
"It could use better integration with Hypervisor products like VMware."
"In order to derive maximum benefit from BigFix, it is essential that we configure all of its features and implement them effectively. If the automation could be improved we would be able to mitigate the risks associated with zero-day threats."
"The reporting structure could be a little more simplistic. Currently, it throws too many vulnerabilities. Some of them are not needed because they are only informational and limitations, and they are not of much help. It doesn't need to show us these things."
"The product can be a bit heavy."
"It needs a consolidated manager as there are too many parts to currently manage it."
"The role-based access control needs improvement."
"We are completely satisfied with the functionality of the product, but the reporting should be more granular."
"The Apex One endpoint sensor has room for improvement."
"Apex One's threat and vulnerability management has room for improvement."
"Lacking features, not yet fully mature."
"The solution can be improved to utilize fewer system resources, like memory and hard disk, during scanning."
