Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We found the initial setup to be straightforward.""The most useful features are the ability to connect different databases to Microsoft BI and explore them. Once the database information has been extracted, you have the ability to construct indicators and dashboards from the information.""It's user-friendly and provides data abstracting capabilities. We are also able to share reports with our colleagues very easily.""It works well with SSAS, which we use to generate all different kinds of trending and analytics reports. Sometimes we use Power Query and DAX to build some aggregations on the Power BI side as well.""The product is intuitive and user-friendly.""In contrast to what we were using before I think that Power BI has given us more extensive results.""Other people can access data much more easily than before. Its usability is the main advantage, people in the company are using it.""ou can pull reports, visualize them in real-time, and connect them to a variety of other data sources."

"Allows users to build their own solutions without as much reliance on technology staff.""There are many built-in connectors, which allow us to easily add new sources of data, often in minutes.""The best part about this solution is how easy it is to mash up the data from many sources. Sisense is fast compared to other solutions.""A very simple setup: Easy to download, install, and updates are pain free.""Whenever we have an issue or are unsure how to proceed, they manage to simplify the issue and help us execute it in a graceful and scalable way.""Sisense has helped us gain knowledge about our customers, as well as highlighting data quality issues to correct.""This solution is easy to learn how to use.""Allows us to execute heavy, complex computations on the fly so customers can slice and dice the data based on their business needs."

Cons
"When it comes to improvement, I would say there could be more tutorials for students in universities who are just learning it. And it wouldn't have to be just for students in universities. It might also be for the people who use it in the real world.""If you have to pull multiple data sources performance is somewhat lacking.""I think because I'm moving more into RPA, I'd definitely like to see integration across the RPA, Power BI, or Tableau platforms, because that integration could then make automation and mundane reporting much faster.""Lacks the ability to copy data from BI into PowerPoint.""I think that the product would benefit by increasing the range of visuals and graphics readily available, as opposed to using a third party included as part of the product.""It needs more analytic tools.""I would prefer that the solution not be shared. I'm concerned that if we make a mistake we could reveal information to people who shouldn't see it. I would like to have my own on-prem server, to buy my own server and have my own infrastructure for Microsoft BI, with only with my data.""It is too slow. I hope in future it will be a comparable big data tool, such as, for example, Data Lake."

More Microsoft Power BI Cons →

"The initial version we purchased only ran on Windows servers, which was less than ideal for our DevOps team. I believe that has been remedied in the latest release.""The solution's setup process could be easier.""Larger datasets will sometimes give a "Accumulated logs" error when trying to make minor changes. T""At present there are additional costs involved if we wish to share our data queues within this solution, which we would like to see removed.""I would like to see more development and growth for the support of Knowledge Base and Community forums.""They should improve the filters to create downloaded data by moving them to the top of the dashboard.""This solution does not have tabs. In order to have tabs, you have to download an add-on to mimic the tabs. They should be integrated to improve the solution.""I would love to have more customization capabilities for building dashboards, especially in creating custom widget sizes."
