Find out what your peers are saying about Microsoft, JAMF, VMware and others in Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)."The mobile application management, MAM, is the most useful aspect of the solution."
"The most valuable feature is probably mobile device management. Small businesses are coming under greater scrutiny and requirements for compliance as time goes on. We don't have to worry about a VPN because we can manage these devices, control company data, and lock users out. If needed, we can remotely wipe devices and deadman-switch them."
"The performance of Microsoft Intune is good."
"Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."
"One of the standout features of Intune is its seamless accessibility to work data, eliminating the need to be tied to an office or a desktop."
"We already use a lot of Microsoft products in our company, and therefore, it made sense to also use this product."
"The solution is easy to use and it has good performance."
"If the product works, remote access will be a benefit. To this point we have not had reason to have confidence in achieving that access."
"Having access to our internet was extremely beneficial. We don't have that functionality now that we have switched to Microsoft Intune. It was definitely better with Blackberry."
"Every version upgrade has been straightforward."
"It was an improvement when we got the Tasks and the Notes as well as Connect for Skype For Business."
"If a device is stolen, you have the power to remove all of the contents remotely. You can do this very quickly."
"The containerization of the workspace is what we have found to be the most valuable."
"There is very high flexibility for different setups of single users, so it can give a single use many different device types with different enrollment types."
"We are able to separate personal information and in the event of e breach, we are able to turn off access and/or delete this information."
"We can access emails within the active sync."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The Lockdown Kiosk Mode is very useful... When you have 9,000 people remotely using your applications, you want to make sure that they don't play with Facebook while they're supposed to be working... It also prevents installation of software that could be harmful or compromise the security of the phone."
"The installation is very straightforward."
"We can do auto patch updates using SOTI. SOTI has been well placed in terms of the number of endpoints it can handle."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The most valuable feature is the remote support because there are plants here where IT staff is not present. We can use it to provide support remotely."
"The most valuable features are remote control, remote monitoring of the mobile phone data, GPS localization, automobile network management, identity management, speaker logging, and remote management of mobile content."
"SOTI's most valuable feature has to be mobile device management and visibility through the main console. There's a central dashboard that you can use to monitor the devices and keep track of usage, battery consumption, and battery life."
"The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market."
"One area for improvement is app deployment. Another is the Windows update rollout. If you're rolling out an object to a device that's offline, Intune stops trying to reach this device after it sits idle for a bit. We are forced to find a workaround that could help manage that."
"Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally."
"More integration with monitoring tools is needed."
"Intune's third-party patch management could be better. It should be easier for the average system admin to keep non-Microsoft applications updated."
"The synchronization could be improved."
"The reports aren't complete, and it's not easy to build custom reports. For example, Windows Autopilot isn't working well in cases where the computers don't have a good internet connection. Then the option is not good enough."
"There are a couple of issues with stability."
"It would be ideal if there was something for communication with Microsoft tools like Teams or Skype for Business, or perhaps even with Zoom for conference calls."
"I would like to see better integration with our AD. Instead of having to use Active Directory groups, we'd like to use Active Directory attributes instead. There is a lot of overhead in managing. Whereas, if we could key on something tied to HR, or some other feed indicating who they are or what role they have, and manage them that way, that would be much preferable than having to manage people with Active Directory groups. Because, if people move roles, then we have to make sure that we move them from one Active Directory group to another, which is hands-on, a lot of overhead."
"It's too difficult to manage ourselves. We have to get a third-party in to do that. The fact that it breaks on some end-users' devices is also a concern and just the frequency and complexity of upgrades is not ideal."
"It would be nice if there was an easier way for team members to get onboarded in regards to what they have to do on the device. There are some programs like Apple DEP and Samsung Knox. Unfortunately, with these programs, to get existing users onto them, you have to factory wipe your device. If it did not have the DEP capabilities, it would be nicer if it did not have so many steps to go through. That is our biggest complaint from team members. It has too many steps."
"The entry level support needs improvement, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that we do not have premium support. Therefore, we have to go through Level 1 support for any issues."
"I'd like there to be more in the core product rather than having to buy additional products. For example, being able to trace your devices after an emergency is an additional product you have to buy to do that properly."
"The installations on the device could be simpler. It is a good solution, and all the features are there. So, there isn't a lot to improve. I'm sure they already have their thought process on how to improve it."
"The console needs improvement. It does not provide all the information that we are looking for as far as who has installed a certain product."
"Where they need improvement is not as much on the technical side but, rather, on their communication. In general, that has been poor. Account management and communication could be greatly improved..."
"Reporting could be better. When I try to run a report, it doesn't have a filter or even a feature where I can choose what I have in the report. That's been a struggle since the first time I used it so I just don't touch it anymore."
"They should improve the lockdown feature."
"The documentation could be improved in SOTI MobiControl."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects."
"SOTI MobiControl's user interface is very tough to handle and should be made more user-friendly."
"They could organize the software a little bit better, where you access things on the console. It seems like I have to click in three different places in order to get it to go to one area. I should be able to access pretty much any point of the server, whatever I need to touch, from a panel, without having to go click on a menu, then click on the profiles, then click over on Server and go back up to the top and click on the type of device that I have, just to get my applications to show."
