We performed a comparison between BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite and SOTI MobiControl based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Microsoft, JAMF, VMware and others in Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)."The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types, we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager(MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company detail on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
"While I don't think you can ever have full visibility and control, Intune certainly allows us to see the applications being used and tells us if things like Windows patches aren't applied to machines. It does a good job. That visibility makes life a little easier."
"Intune device restriction policies enable me to enforce limitations on the device, like blocking the mobile camera or restricting the employees from using and inserting USB devices, including thumb drives and flash drives."
"Internet-based access with security is what I have found to be most valuable. It is also a stable and scalable solution."
"This product offers an alternative solution to other UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) solutions."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies."
"We have one MDM that works with Windows, iOS, and Android."
"The solution is easy to use and it has good performance."
"Cylance, their newest antivirus product, is the most valuable feature for us so far."
"We were able to utilize Android for Work-Premium in BlackBerry Android devices."
"It was a big improvement to activate applications with one authentication. That was a big plus for the user experience."
"There is very high flexibility for different setups of single users, so it can give a single use many different device types with different enrollment types."
"We are able to separate personal information and in the event of e breach, we are able to turn off access and/or delete this information."
"It has a good ease of use, and its intuitive."
"It does support hardware and operating system configurations from every angle."
"The functionality with UEM and BlackBerry Works, the shared calendar, is a massive improvement for us."
"It's been very stable over the past few years."
"The other one would be just how easy it is to deploy applications."
"It is very reliable, and their support is excellent."
"Among the valuable features are managing configurations of all devices and being able to remote into devices... We send out configurations for each site that has its devices. Each site has a different configuration, and SOTI manages each configuration for each site"
"The SOTI MobiControl Assist tool is very good for remote controlling devices for troubleshooting. SOTI MobiControl is very helpful."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The other feature, that I have got to say is just leaps and bounds ahead of SOTI's competition, is the remote control feature. It's a true admin remote-control, so we don't have to have somebody on the other side of the device allowing us access to the device... We're able to pull up a tablet or phone and take pictures of it and we can actually videotape what's going on, on the device itself, and that's been huge."
"The keywords menu is better than other MDM. They have an Out of Contact policy, which other MDMs don't have."
"The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market."
"Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally."
"The reports aren't complete, and it's not easy to build custom reports. For example, Windows Autopilot isn't working well in cases where the computers don't have a good internet connection. Then the option is not good enough."
"A new Intune feature allows application packaging, but it incurs additional licensing costs for a significant number of applications."
"They should make it easier to order it, however, that's generally true for everything from Microsoft."
"What would make this product better is adding more security policies and features in the next upgrade."
"The policies we had in SCCM and AD offered features that are missing from Microsoft Intune."
"More integration with monitoring tools is needed."
"I would like more support for Google Chromebook operating system, so I could manage it."
"We cannot integrate BlackBerry Edit from BlackBerry Enterprise. BlackBerry Edit has issues when we are editing any document. We have other internal applications that we can use for documents, but we cannot edit into BlackBerry Edit. There's room for improvement with editing documents."
"I know for the BlackBerry Connect, our users want to see more features, such as audio and video. I know the current version doesn't have that."
"The interface could be improved."
"From the past to the present, before mobility location, we frequently required a restart."
"It would be ideal if there was something for communication with Microsoft tools like Teams or Skype for Business, or perhaps even with Zoom for conference calls."
"One fault that BlackBerry has is its salesforce. Their direct salesforce department is changing its salespeople constantly. One client I had, over a period of about three years, went through four salespeople. That continuity is a problem, in terms of dealing with the customers."
"More devices supported like iOS, Android, and API so it can support various platforms to enhance the experience."
"They could organize the software a little bit better, where you access things on the console. It seems like I have to click in three different places in order to get it to go to one area. I should be able to access pretty much any point of the server, whatever I need to touch, from a panel, without having to go click on a menu, then click on the profiles, then click over on Server and go back up to the top and click on the type of device that I have, just to get my applications to show."
"Maybe if there were tiers, it would be better as then companies could lower the pricing by going to the lower deployment model."
"Companies like SOTI and Mobile Iron are working with Google to help them manage these devices and eliminate the use of bar code scanner sales and mobile device sales. That's kind of crazy."
"You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects."
"They should improve the lockdown feature."
"SOTI MobiControl's user interface is very tough to handle and should be made more user-friendly."
"There is room for improvement when it comes to the ability to customize devices and choosing what information goes onto them."
"If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes."
