We performed a comparison between IBM Tivoli NetCool and OpenText Network Node Manager i based on real PeerSpot user reviews.

"The tool had many built-in automation capabilities."
"The solution has very good integration capabilities."
"Anything is possible with Tivoli. It's quite a robust system."
"The scalability of monitoring, the breadth of supported network components, the scale of the number of monitoring events, and the flexibility in customization make this a well-rounded product."
"Support is one of the best aspects of this solution. NetCool is a good product that has good flexibility. There are a lot of documents available online which is one of the best features of IBM Tivoli Suite. Whenever an issue happens, rather than going to technical support, if you find the exact issue in Google, you can get tech notes for that particular issue."
"It's very easy to use."
"We do not have any issues stability-wise."
"Real time network monitoring application: It is very stable, which provides quick root cause analysis (RCA) for any network faults."

As of now, we use Cognos Analytics, we are not using Power BI. They have the Insight concept but we don't like that."
"UI is outdated, very old legacy."
"Tivoli NetCool is based on a Linux platform, it would be beneficial if they moved it to Windows because not everyone is acquainted with Linux."
"The solution does not have any AI capabilities."
"The solution is too expensive."
"Tivoli NetCool's has medium scalability - there are some problems with its replications not being mature."
"Customization and integration that you need to do to make the product fit your needs is very complex. It is not a product that somebody could easily pick up without any prior training or experience."
"Only to improve the GUI."
"The dashboards are not customizable and it's not user-friendly."
"Reporting. Even though this is available in separate software (iSPI) there is potential in making the reporting more SLA-aware and more intuitive."
"The deployment architecture and installation part needs improvement."
"As the technologies evolve, also these solutions or the monitoring tools should evolve to cover the progress in technology, including capabilities related to monitoring of virtualized devices today, as the DNS is on the table in this way."
"They should add AI options in the product's next release."
"The solution should integrate with NAC servers."
"The resources utilized could be a bit higher, and that is one of the challenges that isn't optimized"

I have excellent experiences with HP Network Node Manager.
A mature tool with good human Interface - reducing Errors.
The choice between 2 which both are not that friendly.... Guess it is really up to
what your requirements are. Netcool is a very good system and very
flexible, as where HP is somewhat limited. The only thing with IBM is that
it is bloody expensive and they are arrogant. If you don't spend enough they
will not help. So again, comes down to the requirements and wishes, the
organisation where it needs to be implemented and the level of self support
an organisation can provide themselves....
There are more alternatives out there...
On youtube the IBM service management highlights how Mibtree uses IBM Netcool Operations Insight with Analytics to provide better insights and better understand IT operations and support for their customer's IT Operations. On the other hand, HP enterprise business talks about bringing value to customers with HP Network Node Manager. So then you can compare easier I think.

driven car that works
If you do so, send me a credit for buying a cake. That will do for me :)
