We performed a comparison between RHEV and VMware VSphere based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Based on the parameters we compared, VMware VSphere got better user reviews. One major difference between the two solutions is that users say that RHEV’s scalability is not great.
"The solution has a good licensing module."
"It is easy to deal with when comes to application migration and its compatibility with the multiple component applications."
"One of the most valuable features of this solution is the popularity of the OS."
"The solution is overall very good with all the facilities. It is user friendly, easy to configure, has documentation, and support is available."
"The most valuable feature of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is its pricing."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"We find the ease of use of this solution to be invaluable. It is user-friendly and integrates well with other software."
"What they provide is way beyond the essential requirements of customers."
"vSphere does offer quite a bit of security stuff built-in. It is nice to know that we can have the virtual machines encrypted, so that if somebody were to get a hold of any of those files, we don't have to worry about them actually being used."
"I have found the solution to be flexible, and the vCenter and vMotion useful."
"We find the solution simple and efficient to manage."
"It is very easy to use and very stable."
"The speed of the solution is excellent."

"Its stability and manageability are valuable."
"It provides a new environment in an expedient manner."
"We would like the dashboard feature of this solution to be improved, as it is not very detailed at present."
"The support is tricky in a few places. We're facing some challenges within Malaysia where we don't really have the system integrators available who can provide extended support. When we need personnel on-site, we can't get them."
"With RHEV, the cyberattacks should be fewer. I want RHEV to be better protected."
"It would be better to have more patches, especially kernel-level updates, live and online so that we can keep the business up and running during this period."
"We'd like it if it would be possible on Red Hat Virtualization to possibly connect two or three VMs to the same disk."
"In comparison to VMware, this solution isn't as stable. We're testing it right now, and we're not trusting the stability of the product."
"There is not any proper documentation on the site to reference."
"The availability of technical expertise with the solution may be limited in some areas."
"Stability-wise, there are some minor issues."
"Its performance is an issue in version 6.5, but with the inclusion of HTML files in vSphere version 6.7, the experience is seamless. In version 6.7, VMware has included the HTML file protocol for the web browser or web console, which has changed the console's response and improved the performance. We are using the trial version of vRealize Operations. It would be nice if some of those capabilities could be included in future versions of vSphere, not as a part of vRealize Operations, but in vSphere itself. It can provide some kind of forecast about your resource consumption based on the actual workload and modeling or testing scenarios. It can give you some advice or tips for the future growth of your infrastructure."
"We would like to see the container-based operating system launched soon for this solution."
"One of the areas creating a crash is when you are cloning."
"The solution is stable. It has some small bugs which are not influencing the main functions but every software has some bugs."
"The UI of VMware could use some improvements, especially in dark mode."
"The price could be better."
"The licensing costs are expensive and most of the important features require a license."
