We performed a comparison between SOTI MobiControl and VMware Workspace ONE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."There is a single pane of glass for user access and a single sign-on facility for the user. If you have already logged in to Microsoft Azure or on-premises, you can redirect directly to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, monitor all your security threats, and analyze the data associated with the application in a single, unified way."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"We can securely manage both company-owned devices and personal devices enrolled in our BYOD program."
"Its direct integration with all the other products that we have from Microsoft is valuable. We're using the E5 license, and we have a whole wealth of different products available. It just makes it easier to have everything from one provider."
"The ability to switch between Affinity and non-Affinity enrollment is great."
"The ability to (somewhat) manage full Windows 10 computers including EXE-based or MSI-based application deployments using Azure Active Directory as Identity."
"We have not experienced any bugs or glitches with this solution."
"There are so many features, but Windows Autopilot is one of the features that are very valuable for most customers."
"The installation is very straightforward."
"The company's support is the best. That'd be the number one thing."
"We use SOTI MobiControl for managing Android device management."
"One of the most valuable features is the remote control. If there are issues in the field, we can remote into those devices and see what kind of issues they are."
"It's been very stable over the past few years."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The feature I find most valuable within Soti is the ability to reset or unlock a device. A lot of the devices that we use are in the field. We have locations in Dallas, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, and Phoenix, Arizona and there isn't always someone, within our company, who is managing these devices. Sometimes it's the doctors' offices that we partner with where they use these devices. Having the ability to remotely reset a device or unlock a device has been super-crucial for me."
"The SOTI MobiControl Assist tool is very good for remote controlling devices for troubleshooting. SOTI MobiControl is very helpful."
"The platform makes the mobile device management process straightforward to handle."
"Workspace ONE has something like an orchestrator model that allows me to configure a set of steps to onboard new PCs, laptops, or tablets. So, it makes my work easy."
"A very easy to use solution."
"If an end-user has an issue with a device, the administration has the ability to remote access the device after approval from the end-user."
"It has good stability."
"The location and remote management services are the most valuable."
"The product has fully automated features that help people do tasks easily."
"The most valuable feature of VMware Workspace ONE is its reliability."
"It needs incorporation of Knox, ZeroTouch, etc."
"The Mac integration has room for improvement."
"One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Intune is now Endpoint administration. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace. If you are on a two-week holiday and you come back and look at the same screen you have looked at for the last couple of months, it looks different, which is annoying. Changing things around all the time doesn't make it easy."
"Microsoft Intune could improve by being more user-friendly and having it geared toward device management. The graphic interface is not very good."
"It would be good if, in addition to the minimal patching and compliance, we could also use Intune for application deployment. For instance, if a device is not patched, Intune should have the ability to push not only a Microsoft patch but also other patches, such as a browser patch."
"Reporting could be improved. It needs to be more expensive and robust."
"It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console."
"While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users."
"I have used Microsoft Intune but it is more complicated than SOTI MobiControl."
"Its user interface needs to be improved."
"One issue is that if someone is using an Apple device and they're on the SIM card for data, it does not push the SOTI management system through immediately. It only works when you have it on WiFi. That's something I've noticed as we're troubleshooting and deploying devices into the field."
"SOTI MobiControl could improve by being more user-friendly."
"The pricing policy of SOTI is not stable. You buy it today at one price, and the following year, it becomes something like 5% or 7% higher. From my point of view, SOTI is a little bit weak in terms of implementation on the new Windows 10 devices, and they have to work on this. It can't compete with Intune and other solutions when it comes to Windows implementation. It almost doesn't work with iOS. It works well with Android."
"Where they need improvement is not as much on the technical side but, rather, on their communication. In general, that has been poor. Account management and communication could be greatly improved..."
"If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes."
"In future releases, I would like to see a better configuration of the dashboard."
"Pricing is the only challenge right now. The licensing fee should be simplified a little bit. They have kept too many products as add ons. These need to be bundled with the low-cost, standard version. This will help customers in adopting this technology at a faster pace."
"We'd like the customization to be better."
"Security aspects such as data loss prevention could be improved."
"AirWatch doesn't seem to empower IT admins to try new things or get creative with implementations."
"The portal is not user-friendly."
"I would like to see some integration with native Microsoft products such as Anti-value."
"They could provide DLP integration for applications and specific user account security."
"In terms of the inventory management side, as in the invoice management, the stock management and the entire inventory of an organization is lagging a bit in comparison to Blackberry or other EMM solutions."
