We performed a comparison between SOTI MobiControl and VMware Workspace ONE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Intune provides full visibility into all active mobile device users. If their devices are noncompliant with our security policies, I have the flexibility to update them remotely."
"Intune's unified endpoint management platform is invaluable."
"The most valuable feature of Intune is the central dashboard for compliance and policy management."
"The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."
"Intune's most valuable features are the device, compliance, and configuration policies."
"It is quite policy-enabled, so you can build pretty much any policy to manage remote endpoints."
"I like how Microsoft Intune lets me lock down the email profile and make it accessible only on certain devices."
"It is user-friendly, and the performance is also good. It is a convenient product"
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"It gives us the ability to manage our mobile fleets and push out updates quickly for all of our internal applications to keep the business running. We can push an app update out in minutes..."
"I've really enjoyed the use of the file sync when I'm administrating version control in my program."
"We use the Lockdown Kiosk Mode feature on all of our devices. We use that so that the operators can't change any settings in the background, and so that the applications they run are immediately available to them. It's a good feature."
"One of the most valuable features is the ability to deploy apps on the fly. We're able to update and deploy new applications, directly from the cloud. That's been a huge feature for us. Instead of putting hands on each of these devices - and we're talking thousands of devices - we can manage it all from the backend."
"The licensing is simple."
"The most valuable feature is the remote support because there are plants here where IT staff is not present. We can use it to provide support remotely."
"It is a scalable solution."
"If an outside person tries to track or hack information, it is not possible without us being notified."
"It was easy to use."
"It's a tool that can be managed in various departments."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it enables us to remotely manage the devices, which is its purpose, and to push applications to the mobile devices from the portal."
"The solution's Self-Service feature is valuable because it gives a single managed application that users can download and use based on their preferences and productivity."
"We can impose cybersecurity requirements."
"People who want to adopt this solution may be thinking about it from the end-user's perspective, but this solution is also very friendly for the people who manage it. It's administration-friendly."
"Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."
"The technical support could be improved."
"An issue we have run into with Microsoft Endpoint Manager is that we cannot patch third-party products like Adobe and Chrome with it."
"For an existing customer who has an SCCM, it would need to be upgraded to an MECM first before I can introduce Microsoft Intune."
"The solution could improve by having better integration with Apple."
"It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features."
"It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console."
"It needs certificate provisioning for S/MIME purposes."
"I wanted to check if there is any provision at the Intune level to restrict certain things, such as a website, but unfortunately, that feature is available only in Microsoft Defender. Intune has web filtering capabilities, but they are only useful for protection from malicious websites, whereas we would like to be able to restrict a website. For example, YouTube is a clean website. No one would identify it as a malicious website, but if we want to stop the end-users from going to that website, we have to go for another product, such as Microsoft Defender or another third-party proxy solution. It would be great if this capability is included in Intune."
"Maybe if there were tiers, it would be better as then companies could lower the pricing by going to the lower deployment model."
"Improving the reporting section would be beneficial for enhancing the product's overall functionality."
"The management console could be improved to be a little bit more user-friendly. Some of the stuff is a little bit cumbersome, some of it feels like an engineering solution, but otherwise it's pretty good."
"One issue is that if someone is using an Apple device and they're on the SIM card for data, it does not push the SOTI management system through immediately. It only works when you have it on WiFi. That's something I've noticed as we're troubleshooting and deploying devices into the field."
"It would be helpful if the product offered more integration and more features around the iOS and macOS platforms."
"They don't have systems that are built for redundancy. You have one database that manages everything and, if that database crashes, you have a problem."
"Adding more features for iOS devices would be an improvement."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"The application itself individuals are getting annoyed with it. They are looking to integrate with ABB applications regardless of whether it is Android or iOS based. We are wanting to shift from this application because of the integration issues we are facing."
"We'd like more useful support."
"One of the things that I want them to improve on, if possible, is the management of Mac devices, MacBook Pro, for example. They do it, but they have scope for improvement, in my opinion. It's not that it's that bad, it just a small need."
"This product makes use of SAML across the board, which has seven known security flaws. It would be good if the company created a way to protect against SAML flaws. One way would be to integrate a firewall server or an endpoint out in the cloud with which you could establish trust. If you knew nothing about SAML and you did some Google searches about what SAML is, what are the flaws, and what are the known vulnerabilities, eventually, you'll find that there are seven flaws. There are two methods that you can use to solve those seven problems. They essentially involve putting a firewall or putting rules, such as access controls, so that anybody in the world can't just come in, authenticate, and either be a good guy or be someone trying to knock on my door and get into my house. If I could eliminate that, it would be awesome."
"Lacks a modern enterprise mobility management platform."
"The mobile device repository is somewhat difficult to manage with a large user base."
"The Content Locker cannot inherit permissions for the Windows Public Folder. If they could integrate with Microsoft on this point, it would be the perfect functionality."
"Windows 10 management is there, but VMware only recently developed that part, and it's not fully mature. Patch management and other integrations are there as well as the application-pushing part, command line, mandatory commands, etc. Some out-of-the-box solutions should be available to better integrate a broader range of applications and handle application push. That's the roadmap we should look at."
