Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Veeam ONE effectively centralizes the view of different tools.""The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.""One valuable feature of Veeam ONE for backup management is its dashboard, which offers a comprehensive view of backups and other essential data.""I have found the most valuable feature to be the configuration and ease of use.""The initial setup was straightforward.""I like the tool's backup.""The product is very straightforward and very easy to use from the client-side.""The solution's customer service is good."

More Veeam ONE Pros →

"The dashboards and the interface are very easy to understand, very lively, and very dynamic.""It tells us when there's an issue with a particular VM or host. It gives us a remediation in order to fix that problem. For example, if there's a shortage of memory or a shortage of CPU, things of that nature, it tells you how to correct that issue.""When we have problems with applications, we are fast with troubleshooting because we use vROps.""One of the most valuable features is that it gives us granular insight into how the infrastructure is operating and running, down to the storage level, the hypervisor level, even the hardware level. It really gives us a deep dive into what is going on and lets us see. Instead of our having to figure it out, it figures it out for us. It is also user-friendly and intuitive.""With this solution, we are able to see where problems are happening quickly and improve turnaround time, which matters to us.""We are not constantly having to babysit or troubleshoot it. It does what it is designed to do, and it does a very good job of it.""I like the dashboards. We can view in our service groups before something in our service goes wrong and causes issues.""The initial setup was very straightforward. We spent a few days setting it up, then it was up and running."

Cons
"Veeam ONE should improve its UI.""It's not that easy to use from the management side.""In future releases, I would like to see the solution provide auto resolution and auto relocation of resources.""The pricing is very high.""We'd like to see them add more custom templates.""I think Veeam ONE should be included in the base product instead of as an add-on because customers tend to look for simple solutions that are integrated.""It would be great if Veeam ONE had a business hour reporting feature because sometimes a client would want to know what workers do during business hours and outside of business hours. This type of report will give you the added benefit when you're scaling up and scaling down in the cloud, for example, if I wanted to swap hot and cold storage during specific hours to save on cost. Business hour reporting in Veeam ONE will give you a lot of benefits and added value. Scalability needs to be improved in the solution.""I face difficulties when trying to deploy Veeam ONE because my active directory restricts some particular rights."

More Veeam ONE Cons →

"When it comes to policies, they need to fine tune things to make it easier. It is a bit difficult setting up policies.""It's a little bit scattered. I have to go through a lot of steps to get everything in one place. I would like it that if you click on one cluster, you get all the information from the host, VMs, whatever is there. Sometimes I have to go to different places to get the information.""If I had a container solution deployed on top of a VMware infrastructure, or outside as well, it would be really helpful.""VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) should improve instant monitoring. Currently, the monitoring is on an interval of five to ten minutes, if I want to know what is happening now I cannot.""You can troubleshoot, you can do all kinds of deep-dives into the issue and find out what the root cause is and everything, but in order to get it fixed, whatever it is (doesn't matter what it is), you need to log into another tool in order to fix it.""I sure don't find the solution to be intuitive or user-friendly. It takes a lot of time to get familiar with the interface. You've got to spend a lot of time poking around there, it's not very user-friendly. There have been improvements over the versions but, even still, there is a pretty steep learning curve for the product, in my opinion. In the latest and greatest version, there has been quite a bit of a step up from the last version, as far as the user interface goes. they are making improvements. So that's positive.""It wasn't exactly proactive. It was supposed to, but there were a lot of delays. It could also be because of our infrastructure and the way our network was set up. If vROps could be more proactive, that would be nice. It is nice to have the information beforehand, but when there is downtime, it takes a lot of time for us to be able to see an issue in real-time, which becomes a bit challenging. If there is a way to improve the data collection for the whole vCenter that would be nice because data collection takes a lot of time.""They should make it easier to find those granular things that you're always looking for. You're always running into a situation where you want to use the tool to figure out a problem, but the amount of effort needed to delve into vROps and find the exact metric you're looking for is always so difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "For what it does, the price is acceptable."
  • "If you have Veeam Backup and Replication with the essential license then this solution is free. If you were to purchase Veeam ONE by itself it is priced cheaper than competitors."

  • "Veeam has been raising its prices in the last two years, so it's now lacking some competitiveness in pricing."
  • "I have not used the resale license in our testing environments. Sometimes, our customers used the trial license for 30 days and so on."
  • "I don't pay for the solution, so I can't comment on the cost."
  • "The cost is based on the number of core servers."
  • "Our licensing cost is $200 a year."

  • "The pricing: It's expensive."
  • "Pricing is good for us. We're non-profit so we get a break on that."
  • "I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
  • "We have seen ROI in performance. It used to be our company was giving out eight CPUs to all servers. That was bad performance-wise. People were seeing slow compute times for their applications."
  • "Pricing could always be cheaper, but it's acceptable."
  • "vRealize Operations has proved to be a cost effective solution for our big environment."
