Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Spiceworks is generic and free.""Spiceworks' dashboard allows you to drill down to the notes, where I can take an inventory of the network and see the devices I need to monitor.""Helpdesk and inventory are both equally valuable, and they form the true core of the product.""The nice thing about Spiceworks is always it's free. Monitoring of printers for low toner. Finding machines that have low memory or low hard disk space.""It was easy to integrate Spiceworks with our existing setup.""The solution is easy to use and easy to manage.""Tickets by e-mail, with actions by hastag.""The solution can find all asset details automatically, whether it's a Mac address, computer name, IP address, models, etc. It's very helpful."

"The initial setup was not complex.""Simple network monitoring that is easy to install and manage.""The basic setup is very easy.""The pricing of the product is reasonable.""The overall functionality of Zabbix is very good. The monitoring of bank applications that Zabbix provides is great. The information is displayed on a dashboard that is easily viewed.""Dashboard and the customization of the items and triggers are the most valuable features.""It can send messages to our ticketing system.""The most valuable feature is that it provides network segregation for server monitoring."

Cons
"I would like to see more information when drilling down into access permissions, assignments management, or tagging. When I click a note or a device, I should be able to see more details about the router and modem. For example, I want to see the version, downtime, availability, latency, etc. I should have easy access to everything about our assets at a glance.""Sometimes, it can be difficult to integrate what you need.""It would be nice to have remote access to the solution via a tablet. They also need remote control from a PC. Right now, to complete the technical support process, you have to have a tool to access the PC, and check the problems.""There are a lot of disadvantages to Spiceworks because it's not an agent-based solution.""Having an integrated asset management tool, where I can plug in things that are offline, would be good.""I would like the solution to allow for more direct interaction with computers. I can open tickets and I can see their status, but I can't interact directly with the computers themselves.""With Spiceworks, like, when I open the websites, I have to Zoom in. I need to zoom in on those websites sometimes because it makes it horrible to use.""The GUI must be improved."

"There is a bit of a learning curve during installation.""There are some features of Zabbix that are not good for reporting. The DX Spectrum solution has better reporting.""There are a lot of areas for improvement, specifically in the dashboards and reports functionalities.""Even though it’s such a powerful monitoring system, it would be more helpful if it had a flexible UI.""The user web interface is a little bit too basic, we need to link Zabbix to Grafana to have more options, such as graphs and charts. The interface needs to be improved. Additionally, there could be better integration with Grafana API.""Documentation terminology could be improved.""The graphical user interface could be customized a little bit more, and also the dashboard could be more friendly.""I think the reporting part of Zabbix can be improved in terms of more user-friendly graphics to display the collected data. Many simple users who don't know how to use Zabbix properly might get confused by the reporting, although at the same time it is very versatile for my company."
