Offers features like Master Snapshot which are useful for recovering files and easy to use if you are familiar with familiar with NAS things and networking protocols
If you're considering Panzura, I'd actually recommend looking into DDN products. They're very stable. In fact, they're launching Infinea, which is totally cloud-based and uses Lambda and Kubernetes. It's a very good product. If you have basic IT concepts, it's very easy to understand. But if you're not familiar with NAS things and networking protocols like SMB or Linux, then it might be a bit difficult for new users. Linux understanding is very important to use Panzura. Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. Master Snapshot feature is the only exceptional feature, but the rest of the features are similar to other storage solutions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Sharing and collaborating across files and folders has been a massive game changer."
"The solution is scalable."
"The most valuable feature of Box is security."
"I like the ease of use."
"File sharing, authorization on the back, its ease of use and reliable uptime performance are valuable features of this solution."
"I like that Box makes it easy to deploy virtual machines."
"Box is extremely stable, they have not been hacked or lost any data in the past seventeen years. I am very impressed with it."
"Using Box for cloud storage allows us to focus on the service and maintaining infrastructure."
"Its most valuable features are the collaboration, the file snapshots, and the data protection the solution provides."
"The main thing in Panzura is that there are three key components: PanFS, NAS, and collaboration. These are strong features, and a big benefit is that you can access everything from anywhere."

Cons

"Maturity of the enterprise security around user management."
"I recommend doing the trial first, because it's not cheap ware. It's not overly expensive, but it's not cheap ware, and enterprise has a minimum number of users."
"I haven't really come across a case where we're not able to use it for what it is, so I don't really have anything holding us up or any customers holding us up at this point that I know of. There are always some limitations, but as a technologist, I just live with them, and there is always room for improvement, but I don't have anything quantifiable."
"I don't like the low level of role-based security it provides – it's very cumbersome, and the support is ordinary at times."
"They could integrate better with other platforms."
"Tasks and comments could be easier to see, report, search, and manage."
"I would love to see the ability to invite collaborators extended to a file level, not just the folder level."
"It could be cheaper."
"It should be easy for people not on the network to connect and access their files."
"Master Snapshot feature is the only exceptional feature, but the rest of the features are similar to other storage solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
"Box needs to improve with their pricing in terms of licensing costs."
"Better sign a full year's contract to get a discount."
"We are using the free version of the solution. There is a free version and monthly and yearly subscriptions available."
"I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
"A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
"They are very price competitive when pushed. Initially, they come out with a standard list price, but they are willing to be very competitive. The Box price was pretty much equal to or lower than the Citrix price, and Box has more features."
"The more you dig, the deeper the level of tools, and the more expensive it becomes."
"The solution's pricing is on the expensive side."
