Efficient RPA and create automated workflows
For the initial setup, I would rate it somewhere in the middle, so around seven out of ten. It's not too difficult, and with some tutorials and testing, it can be achieved quite easily. The whole deployment process took around three weeks, end-to-end. It starts with gathering the requirements. I asked the ops team to give me their exact steps and techniques. Then, based on that, we build the documentation for the step-by-step process. We mirror this process and try to replicate those steps from the RPA. Then we move on to the UET cases and go through them. If everything goes well, we will provide a sign-off and release it into production.

Good support, easy licensing, and useful automation capabilities
We wanted to build automation solutions for our clients as well as for improving the efficiency of our internal processes. This platform provided a solution without the complicated licensing model that is prevalent in other RPA tools. Furthermore, the containers orchestrated on its platform are Python-based, meaning it's developer-friendly and one doesn't have to go about learning an altogether different tool. Also, the ability to create separate organizations on this platform makes it easier to bill each of the clients separately. Then there is the vault feature which allows for storing sensitive data and the code can then fetch it from there.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of this solution are the automation interface and the RPA automation."
"There is an exhaustive amount of templates that users have access to."
"It works best to build cloud flows."
"The whole platform seamlessly integrates well."
"I like that Power Automate gives us a connector to be able to connect different data sources or different software."
"The most valuable feature is that you can run multiple automations at the same time, in parallel."
"Its ease of use is most valuable. A lot of the bulk functionality is done either through standalone or custom connectors and standard API processes."
"Very reasonably priced."
"The solution is based on Python which makes it very valuable."
"The price is good."
"I like the fact that it's very fast. The processing speed is good, and that's what matters to me. I also like that we don't have to bother with the infrastructure setup. We don't have to care about the status of the data set, as I believe the local group will provide it. We don't care about the licensing model. We only have to care about how long we are using it."
"I have worked with UiPath and Automation Anywhere previously. Robocorp offers an improved development style and support as well as flexibility of its tools. You can easily develop custom libraries in Robocorp."
"The ability to create separate organizations on this platform makes it easier to bill each of the clients separately."
"It's easy to deploy bots via the API helper in Control Room. Robocorp's debugging features are also robust. It shows you a lot of data."
"Robocorp is based on Python, so you can use Python scripts and create libraries for your use cases. Building libraries and custom scripts for a particular client and general use cases is easy. We can reuse those scripts for other clients, so we start seeing benefits quickly."
"It supports Python runtime because of that, runtime also improves."

Cons

"There are frequent version updates and that impacts different algorithms so we have to adjust our code."
"We expect Microsoft Power Automate to work like any other RPA software, but at present, it is fairly lax, especially in the RPA space. We have a very limited set of use cases today for Microsoft Power Automate. Microsoft should make it a full-featured RPA product like other solutions that we use, such as Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and UiPath. This is predominantly the area that they need to improve on. Microsoft Power Automate is quite complex to use as well, especially if you want to do advanced workflows or advanced automation. The regular simple workflows are quite easy and straightforward, but the moment you want to do something complex, it is almost impossible for one of our employees to work on it."
"When you are doing desktop automation, they do not have a clear structure to create the code."
"The product should improve its RPA capabilities."
"The technical support has room for improvement."
"There is a limitation in setting up loops, where it does not support multiple conditions."
"When we scale up, we switch to another application."
"Things need to be improved with respect to RPA kinds of solutions."
"We use the latest version of the process studio and it takes up a lot of CPU storage. In our case, this has been up to 14 GB of storage."
"The deployment process is complex and not straightforward, especially for legacy modernization."
"There are certain libraries in Python, such as those dealing with PDF automation and word files, that require the presence of certain external dependencies in the environment to be successfully used."
"We would also like an integrated PDF reader and better integration with custom solutions. The built-in Excel customization is limited, but we can still accomplish what we want using Python. We must rely on Python to customize processes in Robocorp. I don't know about the latest IDE from Robocorp, but the old one doesn't have a lot of activities."
"The solution could be more stable."
"The standard libraries in Robocorp should be more advanced."
"An additional feature I'm looking for in Robocorp is SAP automation."
"I preferred the user interface in the older versions. When troubleshooting, it's sometimes hard to find details about where things went wrong. You need to search a little harder. It takes more clicks to get to where you want to go. It can be somewhat confusing. When you run a process that fails, it takes you somewhere you may not expect."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are many different ways to license it."
"The solution is $150 per month for the unattended add-on, and the normal Power Automate comes with an E3 license."
"The platform is averagely priced. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"There is zero licensing cost. It comes with our Microsoft Office subscription."
"We have it on our system. I don't really know if we need a separate license."
"The licensing price should be more cost-effective."
"This solution is reasonably priced and offers a free trial period."
"Microsoft Power Automate is part of our Office 365 package, there are no additional licensing costs."
"The solution is a very affordable price."
"Robocorp is much better in terms of pricing compared to UiPath."
"In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area."
"The pricing is fine."
"You don't have to pay for the license. You have to pay for the time you use it."
"It's a cost-effective solution."
"The price is cheaper than other competitors. I would rate the cost as one out of five."
"The product has good pricing."
