Beautifully designed and easy to implement but has some bugs
While it is a beautiful solution in terms of design, we are facing some issues on the payroll side. When payroll processing, we are getting rising service requests and we are getting delayed responses from support. It can take 20 to 30 days to get a solution. I'm working on SaaS environment and we are not able to build some business condition validations like validations. For example, if you use a business trip request feature, we are having some validations, yet we have to check the budget availability. We are capturing that budget availability yet we are not able to do the consolidation and documentation. It's not seamless.

Being able to calculate and immediately see results in the payroll gateway is valuable.
I would like to see more consideration in the web to sports teams' payroll. Currently in Ultipro Web, there is no place to enter contract information that will then feed other areas for the employee such as job history or pay. Also, the field “No. of Games” doesn’t display in Pay Data Entry in web, so even if I import the game information into Web while I’m processing payroll, I still have to log into Back Office in order to make adjustments. Also, the expression for BDUES doesn’t work. It should be $80 per duty day, which normally is either 15 or 16 days per pay period but the expression doesn’t work, so I import that information from a spreadsheet also. Apportioning days per state for state withholding (not SUI) is also a challenge. I frequently have to override that information in pay data entry.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is user friendly and can be used on a mobile phone without a computer."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle HCM Cloud is the dashboards, customization, and configuration."
"The solution has good integration with other applications."
"It is a configurable, scalable solution."
"In general, functionality is fine."
"Oracle is a strong option for purchasing or procurement."
"The solution's most valuable features are all the human resources aspects and access management, as well as the talent review. The solution's talent management is very, very good."
"HCM Cloud's most valuable feature is its ease of use - it's interlinked, so you can drill down into information."
"It is much easier to use and the customer service is better than our previous solution."
"The solution's UI is good. Also, it is very easy to use."
"I like UKG's integration."
"The setup process is straightforward."
"The tool improved employee onboarding efficiency, especially in healthcare, where timely onboarding is crucial. This change directly impacted retention rates positively. It was a massive project that involved various teams working together. It took about a year to revamp the entire process and ensure compliance. However, once implemented, it improved employee satisfaction by saving them two whole days in the onboarding process."
"The most valuable feature is being able to get time management reports which break out reclassified jobs and departments to separate areas of the company. This allows for better tracking of hours spent in certain jobs and where more hours may be needed."
"We use the tool for various functions, including payroll, HR, recruiting, onboarding, and workforce management. We've implemented all these modules across all the clients I've worked with."
"UKG allows us to customize our home screen so that we can easily monitor important items on a daily basis."

Cons

"Product integration, particularly with collaboration tools, is lacking in this solution."
"An employee needs training to apply for leave, something as simple as that. They shouldn't need training materials or user guides to navigate the system. We're moving towards empowering users, especially with end-user-facing systems. People should be self-reliant and not need to rely on manuals. Oracle HCM Cloud is very old-school in this regard."
"I would focus on making high volume recruitment more bulky."
"The solution could improve by having better integration between on-premise and the cloud. It can be difficult and time-consuming to migrate our applications and interfaces."
"What's not working that well at the moment is the information flow between the different HR modules. This can be improved by Oracle."
"The solutions could improve by having better performance. There are times when we have experienced some delays. The reports could be quicker."
"Once we are done working on a template, we can't change it unless we create a new one."
"HCM's analytics features could be improved."
"The solution could use better reporting with standard reports. We use the Cognos platform in BI for a lot of our reporting. However, they need to have more robust standard reporting available to their user base."
"I would like the capability to use UKG as a single platform without the need to alternate between systems."
"UKG has complex clock-in and clock-out features. It changes things too often, and it feels like the tool is constantly changing things without testing before implementing changes in production. Additionally, it doesn't communicate these changes very well."
"One area where UKG could improve is in its ability to understand its own competency and then work hard to improve it."
"The solution could improve by simplifying it even more core reports, such as more sample reports, more generic reports that you can edit and improve on yourself."
"The navigation on the screen could be better. Sometimes, I have to dig a little bit deep to find what I need. Everything is there. It just needs to be a little bit smoother."
"Certainly, the time and attendance and the payroll integration need a lot of work. They are disjointed pieces, and they don't work smoothly together. That's the main drawback."
"Reporting is always a hurdle for any user just because it is so extensive. They provide a lot of out-of-the-box reports, but it is something that you always need to work on because you need more advanced writing of reports."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I haven't personally dealt with the cost details, but based on client feedback, Oracle HCM Cloud is considered expensive due to additional support costs on top of licensing fees."
"The data traffic cost is expensive. The solution can scale up beyond my imagination, but the cost can rise up easily."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten."
"The is a license needed to use the solution. The license can be paid in different increments, such as quarterly."
"Licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"The product could be more affordable."
"There is a subscription to use this solution, and there can be additional fees."
"The price of Oracle HCM Cloud could improve. However, everyone would like the price of a solution they are using to be less expensive."
"The platform is not affordable but also not the most expensive."
"While I am unsure of the licensing cost itself, the total cost of implementation and licensing for a company with over 5000 employees would be around 6,00,000. So, there are additional costs beyond licensing."
"UKG's pricing and licensing model involves ongoing expenses based on the number of employees paid. The initial implementation cost is low when UKG implements it directly. However, when partners handle the implementation, it becomes more expensive since partners don't receive the monthly recurring fees."
"I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
