We performed a comparison between Aruba Switches and Fortinet FortiSwitch - Secure Access based on our users’ reviews in four categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Aruba Switches comes out on top in this comparison. According to reviews, it is a more comprehensive solution than FortiSwitch. In addition, its users say that it is cost-effective.
"I like the number of available throughputs and its ability to have different speeds of ethernet cards or fiber-optic SFPs. It's a core switch, and you can configure it as per your requirements. All the configuration details are well documented on the HP website or Aruba website, and one can easily refer to those and find all the relevant commands from the documentation itself. It's also easy to maintain this solution. It's also cheaper than competing products."
"Licensing costs are competitive with other solutions on the market."
"There is a limited lifetime warranty with the switches, so if we have any problems, the switch is replaced very quickly."
"The most valuable features are stability, ease of management, and the monitoring tool."
"The most valuable features are the access point, fire control for clients, majority control, platform control in SSIGF, WiFi networking, and area monitoring."
"The solution's stability is really great. We found it very solid."
"The most valuable feature is the security that these switches provide."
"The technical support is fantastic!"
"Integration is good, as well as price and technical support."
"The tool's setup was very easy."
"The visual scope of the solution is very good. It allows me to see and download all of the network information."
"The most valuable feature of FortiSwitch is its user-friendly interface, which facilitates easy management and propagation of rules throughout the network."
"My advice those using a firewall Fortigate is: use their APs because they work very well."
"The technical support has been very good."
"The tool's VLAN feature is easy to understand. It was very good."
"It can integrate well with other Fortinet products."
"Technical support response time could be better."
"Aruba Switches cover lots of areas and support automated and IOPS and with the central products, but I think when we look at the solutions overall, IOPS devices are not covered so much in Aruba Central. We are in Croatia and it is a small country, I don't know how its situation is in Europe, America, or Asia."
"There is an issue with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), but it is escaping me. We aren't using this feature yet, but it is something we are considering."
"My experience with Aruba's account manager hasn't been the greatest."
"The migration from older to newer products could be improved."
"It takes a long time to import Aruba switches to Ecuador."
"It's a little less convenient for more simplified management needs."
"We had an issue with the hardware where one or two interfaces went down after one and a half years. This issue impacted only one or two interfaces, not the whole hardware."
"The central management needs improvement. The initial setup could be easier."
"In Fortinet, the packet reconstruction in the SD-WAN solution needs a little bit of improvement. When it comes to the Secure Access to the switches or the mix of Fortinet solution, the very small ones do not have the capability to use fiber cables. So, the small FortiGates have to work with the copper cables and cannot use fiber cables. Even though they have the capacity and throughput on all technical connectors, they don't have the interfaces, which is one of the good things with Cisco. They just add models to it. You buy the independent models, and you add them."
"The product must improve its prices."
"More integration would be helpful, especially since we sometimes have devices from other companies. Improved interoperability would be very beneficial."
"I believe that stacking, a feature that is available in Huawei and Cisco, is not available in Fortinet products."
"It could be simpler but compared to the competition, it's not so bad."
"The initial setup is pretty easy; we have built a knowledge base. But there's a learning curve for beginners."
"The solution has SD-WAN but it doesn't have SDN. This should be added."
