Pros
"The initial setup was fairly easy."

"We had point solutions where we could see different elements of the stack, and Dynatrace ties everything together. Before, we could never get that full-stack monitoring. It also helps us get us the context of the customer experience. What's the business impact of those problems?""The most valuable features are ease of deployment, UI, and collected data. Its deployment is really easy. In just a few hours, you can have a very good outcome, and you can see everything, which is very valuable. It collects a good amount of data.""Smartscape display for ease of visibility, pinpointing a exact problem, and providing necessary details for fixing and even improving on.""The geographical view provides a nice visualization of performance on a map.""Dynatrace has reduced our total headcount in operations and the mean time to detect and resolve problems. As a result, those challenging offline times are much shorter, if not non-existent, because of this solution.""The agent deployment is the most valuable. You don't need to do any configuration. You just deploy the agents, and it can automatically detect your infrastructure. That was the greatest feature that we saw in Dynatrace. If there is any database, it can detect it automatically and present everything to you.""Our customers are now able to control their infrastructure with a single tool, and can easily check the connections with all components.""For me the service workflow and the dashboards are the most valuable features, simply because I can know what’s going on in my infrastructure within five minutes, versus two hours."

Cons
"There are certain aspects of the configuration that could be simplified a bit."

More BMC Compuware Strobe Cons →

"This solution needs better support for security and monolithic batch processes.""With Dynatrace in our environment, the managed server required root access to run. As a government agency with tight security, this has been an audit concern for us.""The new Dynatrace solution lacks test-automation integration inside the CI pipeline. I hope that will arrive soon.""We would also like to see all the good data in a single view across multiple tools, so that access to integration is critical.""Beginner video tutorials would really help.""For the user, for the customer, they expect a solution to be not so expensive.""It definitely needs HA, because we have so many applications that are dependent on AppMon that it has been deemed critical. Any downtime, it just affects so many users. So that's one of our key asks for the future.""There's no download action for the reports, so if they could add something like that, it would add value for us. We cannot save data for more than seven to 10 days, so it would be better to add a feature for downloading. At least we could store the data and then we could compare for ourselves, where we are starting and where we are and where we are heading. I would have those metrics."

  • "Product pricing can seem a little over complex, however this is minor and does not detract from the benefits of the solution."

  • "Price (of the product) is a major concern for all the clients I work with."
  • "The licensing model is confusing in solutioning clients for the number of hosts needed to deploy."
  • "The product is superior to others, but it comes with a price tag that is often difficult to position back to clients."
