We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution helped free other staff to work on other projects or other tasks. We basically just had to do a bunch of upfront configuring. With it, we do not have to spend as much time in the console.""Cloud Native Security is user-friendly. Everything in the Cloud Native Security tool is straightforward, including detections, integration, reporting, etc. They are constantly improving their UI by adding plugins and other features.""We liked the search bar in PingSafe. It is a global search. We were able to get some insights from there.""It saves time, makes your environment more secure, and improves compliance. PingSafe helps with audits, ensuring that you are following best practices for cloud security. You don't need to be an expert to use it and improve your security.""Support has been very helpful and provides regular feedback and help whenever needed. They've been very useful.""PingSafe offers an intuitive user interface that lets us navigate quickly and easily.""I like CSPM the most. It captures a lot of alerts within a short period of time. When an alert gets triggered on the cloud, it throws an alert within half an hour, which is very reasonable. It is a plus point for us.""Cloud Native Security has helped us with our risk posture and securing our agenda. It has been tremendous in terms of supporting growth."

"Policies are very easy to manage on a day-to-day basis.""Key features are the Software Vulnerability Assessment and the CSM, which is the configuration check."

More CloudPassage Pros →

"Technical support is very helpful.""An important feature of this solution is monitoring. Specifically, container monitoring.""Threat Stack has connectivity.""The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports... It's like having an extension of your team. And then, it grows with you.""There has been a measurable decrease in the meantime to remediation... because we have so many different tech verticals already collated in one place, our ability to respond is drastically different than it used to be.""The number-one feature is the monitoring of interactive sessions on our Linux machines. We run an immutable environment, so that nothing is allowed to be changed in production... We're constantly monitoring to make sure that no one is violating that. Threat Stack is what allows us to do that.""Every other security tool we've looked is good at containers, or at Kubernetes, is good at AWS, or at instance monitoring. But nobody is good at tying all of those things together, and that's really where Threat Stack shines.""With Threat Stack, we quickly identified some AWS accounts which had services that would potentially be exposed and were able to remediate them prior to release of products."

Cons
"We had a glitch in PingSafe where it fed us false positives in the past.""The Kubernetes scanning on the Oracle Cloud needs to be improved. It's on the roadmap. AWS has this capability, but it's unavailable for Oracle Cloud.""Whenever I view the processes and the process aspect, it takes a long time to load.""There's an array of upcoming versions with numerous features to be incorporated into the roadmap. Customers particularly appreciate the service's emphasis on intensive security, especially the secret scanning aspect. During the proof of concept (POC) phase, the system is required to gather logs from the customer's environment. This process entails obtaining specific permissions, especially in terms of gateway access. While most permissions for POC are manageable, the need for various permissions may need improvement, especially in the context of security.""It took us a while to configure the software to work well in this type of environment, as the support documents were not always clear.""We are experiencing problems with Cloud Native Security reporting.""The main area for improvement I want to see is for the platform to become less resource-intensive. Right now, it can slow down processes on the machine, and it would be a massive improvement if it were more lightweight than it currently is.""For vulnerabilities, they are showing CVE ID. The naming convention should be better so that it indicates the container where a vulnerability is present. Currently, they are only showing CVE ID, but the same CVE ID might be present in multiple containers. We would like to have the container name so that we can easily fix the issue."

"Anything outside of the software vulnerability management and the CSM, things like the GhostPort, need some improvement. The dashboard is in beta. It looks really good, I wish it would come out of beta.""In the CSM module the policies are really hard to work with it. It is not very flexible at all. I would suggest that they change that. Right now, the scan is based on the group that the server is in. What happens if the server is in multiple groups?""Of all the advertised functions, I only find two things that really work in my environment, even though I wanted to use all of them. They're not flexible enough to be used.""The reports and graphs are unintuitive."

More CloudPassage Cons →

"Some features do not work as expected.""The API - which has grown quite a bit, so we're still learning it and I can't say whether it still needs improvement - was an area that had been needing it.""The compliance and governance need improvement.""It shoots back a lot of alerts.""The one thing that we know they're working on, but we don't have through the tool, is the application layer. As we move to a serverless environment, with AWS Fargate or direct Lambda, that's where Threat Stack does not have the capacity to provide feed. Those are areas that it's blind to now...""I would like further support of Windows endpoint agents or the introduction of support for Windows endpoint agents.""The solution’s ability to consume alerts and data in third-party tools (via APIs and export into S3 buckets) is moderate. They have some work to do in that area... The API does not mimic the features of the UI as far as reporting and pulling data out go. There's a big discrepancy there.""The user interface can be a little bit clunky at times... There's a lot of information that needs to be waded through, and the UI just isn't great."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "As a partner, we receive a discount on the licenses."
  • "It's a fair price for what you get. We are happy with the price as it stands."
  • "I wasn't sure what to expect from the pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a little less than I thought."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's pricing is good."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's licensing and price were cheaper than the other solutions we looked at."
  • "I understand that SentinelOne is a market leader, but the bill we received was astronomical."
  • "It's not expensive. The product is in its initial growth stages and appears more competitive compared to others. It comes in different variants, and I believe the enterprise version costs around $55 per user per year. I would rate it a five, somewhere fairly moderate."
  • "The pricing is fair. It is not inexpensive, and it is also not expensive. When managing a large organization, it is going to be costly, but it meets the business needs. In terms of what is out there on the market, it is fair and comparable to what I have seen, so I do not have any complaints about the cost"

  • "We also evaluated VMware NSX, but the pricing and features available in a CloudPassage implementation were decisive in deciding to go with CP."
  • "CloudPassage is a little bit on the expensive side. So my suggestion is that the company lower its price point a wee bit or sell modules, separate them in modules, because I only find two things that are useful to me, yet I pay for four or five modules. It didn't seem like it was a fair deal."
  • More CloudPassage Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It is a cost-effective choice versus other solutions on the market."
  • "Pricing seems to be in line with the market structure. It's fine."
  • "It is very expensive compared to some other products. The pricing is definitely high."
  • "I'm happy with the amount that we spend for the product that we get and the overall service that we get. It's not cheap, but I'm still happy with the spend."
  • "We find the licensing and pricing very easy to understand and a good value for the services provided."
  • "It came in cheaper than Trend Micro when we purchased it a few years ago."
  • "What we're paying now is somewhere around $15 to $20 per agent per month, if I recall correctly. The other cost we have is SecOps."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform solution.

Skyler C., Software Development Manager at Rent Dynamics, says, “The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports. We jump on calls monthly to set goals and roadmaps internally for how we can secure our platform more. Their SecOps program is absolutely amazing when you do not have a dedicated resource for security.”

An IT Engineer at a consultancy mentions, “The platform has a good threat and vulnerability manager with very helpful technical support. The scalability is great.”
